Bio

The best of the old and the new. The band Jackhammer – which hails from the streets of Atlanta – offers plenty of both. Although steeped in the blues-driven traditions of 70’s and 80’s hard rock, Jackhammer nonetheless provides a thoroughly modern vibe making their music as immediate and relevant as anything done by such “hip” artists as Buck Cherry and Hinder.

Jackhammer came to be in late 2004, and began as a typical “garage band,” dependent on a 4/4 count and lots of eighth notes. The band played every possible gig from small sports bars to large concert halls. It did not matter how big or what type of crowd, Jackhammer delivered every show with their wall of guitar sound and screaming solos. Add to that a rock show reminiscent of the late 80’s with heavy drums and bass and lots of eyeliner, the rest is history.

During the summer of 2006, Jackhammer embarked on the “Self Destruction Tour” with regional acts “Asphalt Valentine” and “Dakota Fate” tearing up stages and gaining recognition throughout the Southeast with their unbridled rock show. Visions of little cheese burgers stuck to the ceilings of hotels and empty beer bottles covering the floors are still topics of that awesome tour. Self-destruction, indeed.

Jackhammer is currently in the studio recording their debut CD. With songs “Right Away,” “Freight Train” and “Dynamite” in regular rotation on Harleyradio.com and PureSteeleRadio.com, the sky is the limit for these rockers. Look for the talents of Scratch, TNT, Swain, Snake and Fishbone to grace the stages in your town. This “Freight Train” is on a roll and there is nothing that can stop it.
