Bio

JHW has grown to encompass a large variety of members throughout it's performances. The band was started in Richmond, Kentucky by the band leader, Scott Whitehouse. The group quickly moved to Louisville in an attempt to build a more appropriate and consistent member roster. Fast forward about a year and now JHW has gospel drums, classical violin, jazz saxophone, funkified bass, and some good old rock'n'roll on the guitar. JHW's move to Louisville and it's past few years of practice have been about finding really strong musicians that have something to say (musically) and letting them do so in a group together. Combine that with the song writing and direction of Scott Whitehouse, and you have an interesting new genre, "Freak Folk Rock."
Other than the virtuosity of most of its players, another factor that sets JHW apart is it's versatility. They will play everything from Outkast, to Black Sabbath and they might even do it in the same song. It's a fusion of music that is so well rehearsed, that you have no clue how it's going to come out on the fly.
JHW has one EP out, "The Red House Recordings," and are currently working on their full length album, "The Mahogany Tales" (and trying very hard not to rush anything.) Though the whole group promotes spontaneity, they can be quite perfectionists in studio.
