Bio

Jack is Dead is a power rock trio from Lausanne, Switzerland founded by iranian-swiss singer-guitarist Yves-Ali Zahno. Influenced a lot by early Van Halen stuff as well as pure funk, blues and jazz, Yves-Ali found the same background in drummer Blaise Cottens and bassist Jan Peyer, musician friends with some tasty additions to those influences like hip hop and metal...they came out with "the bliss" first album with former drummer Alberto Malo, then first album under new band name Jack is Dead and new line-up. They just released their 2nd album "Major changes with Miniatures". A few words to explain some joys and pains. Mainly inspired by the last "Green Revolution" in Iran and the Israel-Palestine never-ending conflict. Brothers of pain who should normally hug and hang together. Well, doesn't that need to be talked out and argued ? Yes. And they shall do it within two releases! First one released on march 31 with classic Jack is Dead rock spinning around some blues, bluegrass and electro 80's stuff all sprinkled with oriental sounds. Second release due to 2012 will be that first release totally rearranged with a traditionnal iranian orchestra with Yves-Ali's mum and aunts singing, israeli and palestinian rappers and more guests to join up. Cover is also made in Iran by fresh young and talented graphic designers. Power to the people ! Because all is about Peace and Love.

"Jack is Dead & the Persian Orchestra" is born beginning 2011 by joingning both musicans teams from Iran & Switzerland and have successfully presented their common work of re-arrangement at some of the best-renowned festivals in Switzerland (Festival de la Cite, Festival de la Bâtie, Théâtre de L'Echandole...). The new band is on tour and preparing their first release due to summer 2012.
