Bio

Jack’s Castle is an INDIE/FOLK/ROCK MELBOURNE BASED BAND who has quickly emerged as one of the most popular Indie bands on the local scene.

The quartets' beginnings date back to early 2006 when a couple of dusty demo tapes and a few open mic nights saw them attract a swelling fan base that has spread across the country. Almost exclusively by word of mouth, Jack's Castle has grown from their Victorian Surf Coast roots to a new force rising in Australia's independent music scene.

Warm guitars, quirky vocals and traveling song structures have shaped the four young lads who gained early recognition on the back of their debut release ‘The Lemon Tree’ EP. The band has taken a step up with the release of their follow up EP ‘Falling’ which clearly enforces Jack’s Castle’s standout and unique songwriting style and talent. The official launch of this brand new release attracted a capacity crowd at Melbourne’s home of live music, The Corner Hotel, Richmond. Having just signed a distribution deal with Green Media Distribution/MGM, ‘Falling’ is making its way into stores nationally.

Jack's Castle have certainly earned themselves an impressive reputation as a live band, having supported the likes of Xavier Rudd, Dallas Crane, Michael Paynter, Taxiride, Bliss N Eso and Wolf and Cub. With a vigorous live show to boot, Jack’s Castle has played the 2007 & 2008 Rip Curl Pro Music Festival, Narana Festival and a host of other shows across Victoria, Sydney, Adelaide and Tasmania. Their live schedule over the last couple of years has taken them to the most credible music venues in the state.

Their first single, ‘Falling’, has earned significant airplay across community radio stations around the country, debuting at number one on the SYN FM Hoist countdown. Jacks Castle topped the 2007 Triple J Unearthed charts, with "Yesterday's Girl" and "Drinking Wine" making it to number five and nine respectively.

Ultimately Jack's Castle's songs are energetic, passionate and candid anecdotes, full of Australian character and heart. It’s this endearing stripped back rawness that defines Jack’s Castle.
