Bio

Jackson CR.O.W. is a 20 year old singer/songwriter, originally from Green Bay, Wisconsin and now based in Los Angeles, CA.

Jackson’s musical journey started early on when at a young age he began sitting in with his dad’s R&B band… he was in from the word go. Throughout his youth and during jam sessions with local musicians he continued being exposed to a blend of genres that would start to define his own musical style and career.

At the age of 12, Jackson began his own musical adventure singing, writing and performing. Jackson hit the ground running, self-releasing four EP’s and an additional six singles between the ages of 15-19 including a Christmas song under “Jackson Mankowski”.

A guitar player and singer at heart he also spent a year in drum line and jazz band. There was also a summer spent as Artist in Residence @ The Refuge Foundation for the Arts in Appleton, WI.

After auditioning and being accepted to the LACHSA vocal program at 15 years old he was able to further develop his vocal talent. His song-writing talent was also recognized in his hometown of Wisconsin when Jackson was nominated for a WAMI at 16 years old, their local version of a Grammy.

In 2018 he was commissioned to have 12 original compositions in the upcoming theatrical release #WHENTODAYENDS, directed by Michael Leoni. At the beginning of 2019, he began releasing his work under the name Jackson CR.O.W. After hooking up with Austin natives Ryan Lipman & Charlie Kramsky he released three newly mixed and mastered versions of some previously recorded songs, “A New Man”, “What Do I Deserve” & “Lonely Road”. The reason? His voice had changed between the original recording and the release… guess that’s what happens when you start out young. The music videos for all 3 releases followed.

Early 2020 will see the release of another EP by Jackson CR.O.W. - “3 In the Vault”, a live one-take recording done in an old bank vault in Wisconsin.

His vocals can carry hints of the many influences and genre-mixing spirit he grew up around: Motown, Soul, Americana, Pop, Rock, Blues, Country and Folk. His songwriting can swing from country-inspired and soul-twinged love songs, to more pop and contemporary, moody blues and darker themes.

His releases have been a mash-up between one-take wonders, full band studio sessions, and stripped-down acoustic ballads.

He brings covers by Johnny Cash, Chris Stapleton, Bertha Chippie Hill, and Ray Charles to his live shows, but he’s still able to cover Ed Sheeran, Justin Timberlake and John Mayer with ease. His cover/mash-up of Sly Stone & Musiq Soulchild is a crowd fave.

If you’re wondering… CR.O.W. stands for CReate One World… through music of course.

More to come… Stay tuned…………
