Bio

In The Beginning...
Maybe it’s the cold Canadian winters or the small town roots that ignited the spark in the young Jackson Cook born in Alberta, Canada in 1994. Winning a talent contest at school, then going to see a big rock concert set the stage for a future rock/pop artist. Teaching himself how to play guitar Jackson then began writing his own songs based on his outlook of life around him. At just 12 years old he had a collection of 10 songs, which included “First Kiss” that was nominated for “Best Young Songwriter” in the Toronto Independent Music Awards and a finalist in the “Teen Category” for the International Songwriters Competition.

Taking the stage...
After performing acoustically at various venues it was time to put a band together so Jackson could get on the “Big Stage”. In 2007, Jackson Cook and the Regulators won the Rock Showdown in Kelowna, British Columbia thus earning the place on the MTV main-stage at Wakefest. Performing at various venues including “The Mint” and “Safari Sam’s” in Los Angeles, many charity events such as “Tour of Courage” with Lance Armstrong, “Life Through Arts”in Beverly Hills, and “Safety Harbor Kids” in Malibu, CA, That same year he got radio play with his song “I Know”. 2008 proved that kids wanna rock, so Jackson was asked to write the anthem, “Follow Your Dreams” for the BC Summer Games to an audience of over 7000. That same year his song, “Street Soldier” was nominated as a finalist in the “Teen Category” for the International Songwriter’s Competition.

Life’s lessons...
Living in a small town in Canada to the large city of Los Angeles, Jackson has been able to capture his experiences in his songs. He has been approached by many, from publishers to producers all having a different vision as to who he should be. Jackson has had to make tough choices in pursuing a career as an artist, but through it all has stayed true to his rock roots, yet still able to connect with his generation. Maturing through his music and life lessons, Jackson has wrote a new collection of songs which speaks to the realities of life through the eyes and the ears of a young teenage rocker. Early this year Jackson was picked by Music Connection as one of the top 25 Music Critique choices for 2009. Jackson recently was in the studio working on new songs, booking shows and is ready to take on the new year!
Jackson Cook displays all the makings of becoming the most charismatic and thought-provoking young rock icon of this generation.
