JACKY MCCOY

Jacky McCoy is a 21 year old singer/ songwriter, guitarist/ pianist. He grew up in a lot of small towns around Oklahoma(too many to list). Life as a child wasn't the easiest situation for him to live in. Drugs and alcohol were almost always present and were, a prominent part of his immediate family's life. This has given Jacky a view point that not too many Christian artist can say they have. When people want to talk about the pleasures of sin and what goes on in the world he can say that there is nothing that this world has to offer that can even come close to the joy and peace in knowing and having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ because he has witnessed it first hand. The only thing that kept Jacky from all of this evil that surrounded him was the almighty hand of God. If you were to ask him today he would tell you that all of the glory and honor goes to the one who is worthy of it which is Jesus Christ and He and only He is the reason he lives for Jesus today.
His musical background goes back for generations. His great-grandpa played the fiddle and the guitar and sang. His Grandma plays the piano and can sing like no other(who by the way makes a guest appearance on his debut album), all of his Aunts and Uncles play an instrument or sing and likewise most of his cousins. When he was very young he was taught to go to church and then when things really got bad at home, church became his refuge in which he found strength and support unlike any other place. His grandparents and aunts and uncles played a huge part in this. He is an active member of Gleaner's Holiness Church in Wewoka, OK, which is a non-denominational church where his Granparents Larry and Sadie Chesser have been the pastors for 26 years.
While attending college at East Central University in Ada, OK as a music major for one year, he was offered a position at The Lighthouse of Prayer Church in Arpelar, OK as Music Minister/ Youth Pastor which he graciously accepted in May of 2004 and continued doing until the end of September of the same year. This time became a trying time after he and his girlfriend who attended the same church broke up. He ended up moving back home and really began to seek God for His will in his life. It was during this time, that he began recording his solo debut album entitled "IT'S ALL ABOUT JESUS" which released in May of 2006.
Jacky was a member of "The Chessers" from which is his Aunt and Uncle's Southern Gospel group for 2000-2003 in which he played lead guitar and sang. During his time with "The Chessers", he also recorded a song on their album "Rest In Me" which received numerous airplay. Jacky also was a member of a group called "Ninety-and-Nine" in which I also played the lead guitar during his first semester in college. He is a registered writer with BMI and an active member of the Gospel Music Association in which he attended Music In The Rockies 05' and plans to attend in 06' as well if God wills.
His goals are simple. First of all, he wants to fulfill the calling of the Lord on my life which is music ministry. Second he wants to do that by reaching this lost and dying generation, with the message of the everlasting gospel and to give them hope for a better life in Christ, especially the young people of today who need more positive role models now than ever. His wish is that people would not look at Christians and think we are perfect, but that they might see that we are just sinners saved by grace who if it wasn't for the Lord, would be in their same situations.
He is willing to and will travel anywhere God leads from California to New York or anywhere between. His belief is that if God opens the door He has to walk through it.
