Looking to make her mark on today’s country music, Jaclyn North is taking her sweet time. Not much has ever come easily for Jaclyn, but she's determined that is not going to stop her. Whatever it takes, however long it takes. Jaclyn is spending her days working as a student and her nights as a modern day poet for the underdog performing around Nashville. The music she writes and loves to perform has been described as a smooth blend of southern rock and traditional country, with a sultry kiss of blues. Chuck McKinley of the East Texas “Ranch” radio station put it best when he described Jaclyn’s style as a “controlled, reckless abandonment.” Whether she’s performing down on Lower Broadway or at writer's nights in Nashville, Jaclyn is earning fans and making friends in Nashville. And Jaclyn won’t just sing any ol’ song. If she doesn’t feel it and believe it, you won't see her singing it. With a real clear vision for who she is as an artist, Jaclyn is remaining true to that girl, the girl who has had to fight for the many chance she’s been given, the girl who understands the power of standing your ground and not doubting yourself. Born to working class parents in Texas, Jaclyn was not raised with privilege. Remaining true to the work ethic of her upbringing, Jaclyn is now putting herself through college one course at a time, while still finding time to write songs that map out her journey along the way. Jaclyn doesn't mind having to work for her goal because she’s determined to be real. Nothing more, nothing less. You’ll be seeing more of Jaclyn in the future, you can bet on that.
