Bio
My musicial performances started at age 4, when performing in the theatrical performance of Annie at the Huron Playhouse in London Ontario. At 5 I joined the Original Kids theatre company in London were singing and dancing up on the stage became my true passion. Later acting on screen(see resume) and stage, while pursuing dance and music took me on many travels. When I was 10 I joined a choir that performed in New Yorks Carnagie Hall, as well as singing as a soloist for the Mayor of Toronto's Inagural Ball. After completing my Gr 8 ROyal conservatory in both piano and voice I started singing jazz. This is where the latest journey begins. My biggest influences mainly concerning vocalists is Ella Fitzgerald. She is my absolute favorite singer in the world, and following her is Bjork. Bjork's deep, Annie lennox clear voice is what truely trained me when I was younger, and Ella sings smooth, and masters the smooth melodic disannonce. What I admire most is that they both sing in such a free and primitive way.
Other influences include classic and progressive rock(love Bowie, Gaberial and yes!), which brought me to my love for the synthesizer and organs. My first band started when I was 18, mainly performing Janis Joplin and No Doubt covers and other JaclynRose songs that I will never perform again! My 2nd band performed at a small restaurent in Cairns Australia, playing alot of sublime and the police. But it was my now travels to Vancouver that inspired my most recent influences in NEw Wave. Currently I am all about THe Cure, Tears for Fears, Talking Heads the cars... A year ago I finished recording my first demo, which happens to be my first and only demo ever recorded. HOpefully you will see my influences from my favorite singers, and enjoy the sexy new wave synth. I am naturally an over the top out going person, so in live musical performances I hold nothing back!!
