Jacob Denzel

"Jacob Denzel-- Hip Hop, R&B, Jazz, and Soul, with a Top 40 appeal epitomizes the sound of Jacob's music and the reason for his future success in the music industry.Whether performing for a large audience or an intimate group of friends, Jacob Denzel is consistently dishing out a healthy serving of food for thought. His musical journey began in the church choir as a youth, which is very conventional for the typical R&B singer; however, this melodic voice would go on to master the art of the metaphor or as hip hop connoisseurs would call it, “EMCEEIN”.

As a young artist, he decided to attend a school that would further cultivate his burgeoning artistic abilities. He had his sights set on Emerson School for the Visual and Performing Arts, a 6th-12th grade performing arts school in his hometown of Gary, Indiana. This school is one of only two performing arts schools in the entire state of Indiana. He auditioned for band, and was accepted into the program, where he would make quite a reputation for himself as a drummer.

Throughout his years at Emerson, he developed a class clown reputation with the teachers and students. Because he loved the spotlight and was so outspoken, the head teacher of the drama department suggested that he turn his negatives into positives and participate in some school plays. Not aware of it then, but the acting definitely helped develop the unique character he shows in his music today. Finally, at the end of his ninth grade year he auditioned for vocal, with his new found confidence from his acting experience, he was admitted into the vocal program, where he stayed until he graduated.
Since graduating from Emerson, Jacob has continued to develop his gift for music. He has received a vocal scholarship to Wiley College in Texas, and has worked on several projects, including the mix-tape with fellow artist, Charity, entitled “Metaphors & Melodies” (2011). He has been featured on several local artists’ independent projects, including T. Clark, Carnage Swank, J Fresh, G-Scott, and Charity. He is currently working on his first solo project, entitled “Reassurance”. This project will be Jacob Denzel’s formal introduction as a solo artist, and is definitely only a glimpse of the bright future and potential that is ahead for Jacob Denzel.
