Jacob Diamond

Jacob Diamond is a Singer-Songwriter from Perth, Western Australia.

With a guitar and an attention to detail, Jacob writes folk songs that are melodic and surprising. His song-writing, often with jazzy chords and structures, has kept audiences in his home town intrigued since he first took to the stage in 2009 at the delicate age of 15 on a particularly rowdy night at Perth’s Indi Bar. On that night after his first song, one extremely enthusiastic punter encouraged Jacob with the assurance, ‘I would rather listen to my phone ring’.

Fortunately, you can only go uphill from there – and he only has. With a string of much more successful gigs and his debut EP launched to two sell-out crowds in 2012, Jacob has garnered a dedicated local following, airplay and acclaim for his first six-track body of work.

With first place in the statewide ‘Live The Dream’ Songwriting competition for his tune ‘Only Under The Moonlight’ under his belt, Jacob moved from strength to strength with his single ‘Losing Game’ – a solemn chronicle of a life burdened by loss and heartache. It’s accompanying music video, directed by successful local director Brendan Joel and supported by newly buddies ‘Fat Shan Music’, has received wide acknowledgement as the best music video ever made by a guy called Brendan.

Jacob currently studies Jazz Guitar at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. He continues to play shows around Perth and the South West both solo and with a his four-piece band.
