Jacob Latimore Stays Busy in August; Crown World Kids Shine at Showcase

August 7, 2007 (ATLANTA) – It's back to school time and rising R&B star Jacob Latimore will be hitting the books and the road this month in support of his debut single, "Superstar." Fresh off of a show-stopping performance at the Miss Black Georgia Teen Pageant at Spelman on August 4, Jacob will perform on August 18 at Milwaukee's big V100 Jam 4 Peace 2007 concert featuring Lil Jon, Lil Boosie, Fabolous, Eve, Marques Houston, Plies, Sammie, and Twista. He will then kick-off a Southeast retail tour at F.Y.E. stores on August 22 at Southlake Mall in Atlanta (see schedule below).

If you weren't at the Crown World Kids Showcase on July 26, then you missed the unveiling of three young stars: Jacob Latimore, Kacie Lynch and Dylan showed off their talents to a packed crowd at Crossover Studios in Atlanta. Attendees included superstar producer Rodney Jerkins, Universal Motown recording artist Lloyd, hit-making producer Nitti, Capitol Records' Kawan "KP" Prather, Purple Ribbon's Regina Davenport, DTP/Black Box Creative's Taiye Samuel, Jive Records' Chad Brown, DJ Nabs, Enterprises' Marvin McIntyre, producer D-Town of the Corna-Boyz, Joyce Irby, So So Def's Stone Stafford, Turner Music Publishing's Mandume Robertson, Askia Fountain from Ne-Yo's Compound Entertainment, and Krista Michalski from Polow Da Don's Zone 4 Inc.

Backed by a full band of teenage musicians, Jacob, Kacie and Dylan stunned the audience with their slick dance moves and captivating showmanship. Crown World dancers Daja Draughn (14) and Victorya Langford (13), coached by Usher's choreographer Todd Sams, kept the energy high with acrobatics, pop-locking, krumping and everything in between.

By the end of the show, guests were excitedly buzzing that "these kids really are the next superstars." Click here to see how it all went down: Crown World Kids Showcase Highlights.

Like other music heartthrobs Chris Brown, Omarion, and Mario; newcomer, Jacob Latimore proves that an ambitious 10-year old can succeed at what he sets his mind to. "I love performing…I perform dancing and singing my way to the kitchen to get a snack while going back to my room!" With outstanding stage presence, undeniable vocals and phenomenal dance moves, many say it is only a matter of time before word of Jacob’s name will begin to resonate nationwide. “Jacob is a true talent at such a tender age. I love it”, said Cynthia Johnson Sr. VP of Promotions for Warner Brother Records.

Though unsigned by a major label, but with the support of his parents and managers Tish Taylor, Jacob Latimore Sr., Vincent Searcy and Crown World Entertainment, Jacob is preparing by rehearsing daily, staying in the studio and working with songwriters and producers such as, The Corna Boyz, Rico Love, The Latimore Brothers, Stixx, Mike and E, and Jason Rome just to name a few. In Jacob’s hometown of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and across the Midwest he’s already reached superstar status. “Jacob Latimore is the next wave of children stars”, said Tony Neal founder of the Core DJ’s. The natural born performer has been pounding the pavement leaving crowds in awe, even impressing his idols, Usher, Chris Brown and group Jagged Edge.

Jacob has been fortunate enough to soak in and perfect every dance move he sees as well as perfect the stage presence of his idols, with the help of top choreographer Todd Sams. “Before I get on stage, my adrenaline is pumping hard, the screams in the crowd make me excited! People say I am a different person on stage just like Beyonce turns into Sasha, they call me Jerome!” Jacob laughs. Jacob feels like this is what he was born to do and expresses how much he loves his gift. "I give all credit to God and I am excited to see what he is going to do for me in 2007."

The 11-year-old Milwaukee native kicked off the school’s “Reading First” program
It was all screams and cheers at Clayton County’s G.W. Northcutt Elementary School pep rally last week, as kid R&B performer Jacob Latimore took center stage. The 11-year-old Milwaukee native kicked off the school’s “Reading First” program with a series of upbeat songs and pop-locking moves. And, of course, a few words about the importance of reading. “‘The Cat in the Hat’ was my favorite book when I was smaller,” said the diminutive singer addressing 600 adoring students. “Reading helps me with my music, my lyrics - everything.” Now, if only reading could help Jacob fend off 5th grade girls!
