Bio

Jacob Myrian has long been one of the more respected guitarists of the Indianapolis area. At age 18, Jacob began teaching in Indianapolis, and found himself working with some of the best musical minds in the area. Jacob put together guitar clinics which helped expose Indianapolis to instrumental acoustic, and electric guitar arrangements never before heard in the city. In addition to his exploration of acoustic guitar through his solo finger-style compositions, which Jacob often performed live, he always held on to his initial passion for electric guitar. He played for various Indianapolis artists and bands including Blueprint, Black Tar Audio, Bass extraordinaire Steve Wolf, and orchestrator / composer Wes Smith. Jacob has truly done it all from jazz, orchestral, hiphop, and R&B to straight ahead rock and even a Zappa Cover band. Always confident in instrumental music and its ability to bring out the most honest of human emotion, he diligently worked on arranging pieces that would hold true to his vision. Jacob Myrian has now released his debut album The Village Fable: Vol. I, Ella Speaks. Based on the story of the same title written by Jacob, this album is a rock guitar instrumental score which embodies the tale. Ella Black, a character from the story, speaks of the ones in this world and how they came to be. The creations which uniquely exist within these pages could only be properly portrayed by the arrangements and guitar playing of Jacob Myrian. Through his compositions audiences and listeners find themselves taken through a mystic venture of a wondering mind. Jacob Myrian's Instrumental Story Scoring combines melodic guitar phrases with driving riffs, creating a musical experience rarely found in todays rock bands. Through this imaginative way of envisioning, the movements of the pieces portray the pages of the tale, elegantly combining the arts of story and music.
