"Blue-Eyed Son" (LP, 2008)

Jacob's music career started in kindergarten, when his mother forced him to take piano lessons. After trying and pushing away a number of other instruments, he settled on guitar to help him pick up girls and try to be the next Jimmy Page.

Well, that didn't work out exactly as planned. Using his considerable amount of choral experience, Jacob started writing songs on guitar, harmonica, and piano. It turned from a hobby into a passion after recording his first album, 2006's "Origins," as a high school senior. Released to considerable local appeal, Jacob was honored with a slot at the Emerging Artist Showcase at the Beta Hi-Fi Festival at World Cafe Live in Philadelphia.

And since then he hasn't stopped. Playing shows throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey--including shows with Mirah, The Blow, Nina Nastasia, Jack Rose, and Glen Jones--and still writing more songs, Jacob just completed his sophomore album, "Blue-Eyed Son" (released 4/22/08). It's a passion, after all--this is just the beginning.

With an acoustic-folk sound equal parts Bob Dylan and Elliott Smith, Jacob Waters has been playing his songs throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey since 2005. After the release of his self-produced debut album Origins (2006), Jacob was awarded a slot in the Beta Hi-Fi Festival Emerging Artists Showcase at World Cafe Live in Philadelphia. Since then, Jacob has been continuing to write, perform, and record in preparation for his next album, slated for a spring 2008 release. Though born in central New Jersey, Jacob currently attends Haverford College in Haverford, Pennsylvania. Contact for booking or cd sales: jacob.waters at gmail dot com, 609-658-8147
