Local Indie rock/alternative band Jacocha is fresh out of the womb but are already stacking up the accolades. Jacocha won an award from a local radio station for best local band and also took top honors in a local bar’s Battle of the Bands competition all within the short four months they have been a together. The group is made up of five members: Beth Purvis (cello), Chaz Puett (guitar), Danny Castillo (drums), Jacob Griego (vocals, guitar and keys) and Leif Guillermo (bass). Jacocha is an alternative rock band, created in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 2012. Jacocha is comprised of five members; Jacob(keys, guitar, vocals), Chaz(guitar, lyrics), Beth(cello), Leif(electric bass guitar), and Danny(drums). Jacocha brings forth a unique sound that seeks to describe real life themes while showcasing their musicality and creativity. The energy Jacocha brings to their shows sparks life and thought into their audience and leaves people wanting more. Jacob and Beth set Jacocha apart from normal alternative rock bands by bringing a sound with both progressive and traditional views on music. Danny has an incredible ability to transcend his electric personality into his music and performance. Leif brings an unprecedented amount of originality to the bass. Jacob and Chaz come together in a unique effort to engage and stimulate fans. Jacocha draws their inspiration from the world around them, and the passion they have for music and performing.
