Bio
Jacques Le Coque is a garage punk band formed in Stamford, CT in the summer of 2009. Long time friends guitarist Pete Mazza, bassist Jeff Hoffecker, and drummer Jason Kyek got together working at a local movie theatre, where they spent their after hours playing music late into the night, when not getting themselves into trouble.
Shortly after parting ways from the movie theatre, Jason introduced into the mix lead guitarist RJ DeAngelis, an aficionado of all things fuzz and a man with doo wop in his blood. Jacques Le Coque started by practicing anywhere the four of them could fit into: From the attics of sprawling mansions, to a guitar shop after hours, to dingy garages with angry neighbors and crying babies.
Jacques Le Coque debuted themselves by disrupting the blues routine of local open mic nights, earning recognition from the venues for drawing eager crowds and putting on a fun energetic live show, leading to shows of their own at local venues, NYC clubs , colleges, and parties.
The songwriting is primarily done by Pete Mazza and Jeff Hoffecker, and all four members take part in crafting four part harmonies and unison lively choruses.
In the summer of 2010 due to demanding audiences and by virtue of subtle theft Jacques Le Coque collected enough equipment to set up a DIY recording studio in the house that they all share. Their debut EP, The Love Loogie EP is the first of many to come recordings by a band who in their short career has written and performed over an albums worth of catchy, danceable tracks.
