Jacyn Norfleet

1994, Boston Ma. Born Jacyn Norfleet, is an independent solo artist who grew up in the golden ages of Hip-Hop, the late 90s/early 2000s. Under the influences of Lil Wayne, Fabolous, Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Eminem, Tupac,  Biggie & many more I fell in love with the industry.

Born and Raised in the town of Dorchester, the oldest of 3 , I was raised by a single mother who wanted nothing but the best for her children so she sent us to school outside the city through the MetCo program where we later moved out of Dorchester to the small town of Maynard Massachusetts. With no one to care for my younger sisters while mom was working I was restricted to school and home. Being home all day, listening to music all day created interest in writing my own music at the age of 12. Going to school sharing my lyrics with classmates and receiving positive feedback only enlarged the flame that was within and therefore created the question “Could I do this like Wayne and Fab and the others?”

I grew up in love with sports potentially pursuing a professional career as a backup to music hopes that seem to be nowhere in sight anymore, as everyone got older they took care of themselves so I had time after school to participate in the sports I loved and played for my town and my school and I excelled. Receiving scholarships and offers to play overseas. It just didn't feel as satisfying, almost as if something was missing.

2011, a facebook message that changed my life would appear in my inbox. “I’m starting a rap group and I have been in contact with a very talented DJ named DJ Doubletake who has worked with the biggest name, Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, Diddy, you name it” (Links, videos, footage all backing up what he was saying) so here it is, a way into the industry that I thought had escaped me earlier in my childhood, and after some thought the quote crossed my mind “ If you love something, let it go. If it returns, it’s yours; If it doesn’t, it wasn’t.” Here the opportunity had returned, this is a sign from god, this is yours. 

I took it. The two built a brand, which quickly sparked and gained attention in their little town. Both positive and negative but they had people's attention. Recording music, dropping songs, making mixtapes, doing shows, interviews, appearances, selling merchandise, you name it they did it. A year later I decided to go solo. Hungrier than ever. Sharing the stage with some of the biggest names in the industry today, Kid Ink, Machine Gun Kelly, Big Sean, Waka Flocka, French Montana, Jadakiss, King Los, the list goes on and will continue to go on as I continue to grow.

After a very necessary break that turned into 3 years I learned more than ever. Which took a single from a warm up EP "TakeTwo" called "U Want" that sparked on the internet. reaching 10s of thousands of people, and that was only the warm up. With new management, new team members & an album in the near future, I'm ready to make a life changing push.
