From the ashes of heartache and anger, comes Los Angeles’s newest hard hitting rock band "Jaded Ash". Their sound is a melodic blend of well thought out lyrics, songwriting, and kick ass guitars. Jaded Ash has been warmly welcomed by audiences all across California.
Greg Cortez (Lead Vocals & Guitar)
Born in Northridge Nov. 1983, CA. Started playing the flute at the age of 5. Picked up a guitar at the age of 15 and fell in love with it. Greg attended a music school in Hollywood CA, Musicians Institute for two humbling years. He worked at MAD DOG Studios as a producer/songwriter/engineer in Burbank, CA where he has spent the past three years learning the music business from some of the best producers, engineers, and musicians in the industry.
Corey Hall (Drums)
Born September 1987, Granada Hills, CA. Corey grew up in a Van Nuys apartment with his mother, father and brother until 7 yrs of age and then moved to Granada Hills, CA. His father was deep into music and the first thing he did was turn the garage into a studio. Their Corey watched several bands play and develop, to eventually join his former band Mulholland Fall, it was Corey’s first opportunity to play in a serious band with all the connects, tours and awesome fan base. In 2007 Corey joined JADED ASH.
Juan Guido “Johnny” (Bass Guitar)
23 yrs old, born and raised in Los Angeles California. Both parents born in Mexico and are now US citizens. As a child Johnny grew up in a some rough neighborhoods, until his parents moved to the west San Fernando Valley. There, Johnny picked up sports, particularly soccer and boxing. Playing sports taught Johnny how to work hard and be disciplined. Johnny trained to box in the amateurs until he was 19 , shortly after his mother gave him an upright half size bass and he started lessons. A couple of months later he bought a Fender Jazz Bass, which is still his bass of choice. Before attending Musicians Institute (MI), Greg and Johnny started JADED ASH.
Andrea Ballestra (Lead Guitar) born in Messina, Italy January 1985. At age 15 Andrea started playing guitar. His brother bought the instrument for himself, but Andrea was the one who ended up mastering it. Some of Andrea’s favorite musicians are Jimi Hendrix, Carlos Santana, and Jimmy Page. Years later Andrea upgraded to an electric guitar and took classical guitar lessons from a seasoned guitarist. Eventually Andrea decided to pursue his love for music and moved to the U.S. where he attended Berklee in 2003 and accomplished two BMA’s in 2007 “Performance” and “Music Production & Engineering”, graduating “cum laude”.
