Bio

Nashville-based Jaden South--comprised of Jessica Draper and Deborah DeLoach--possess a potent creative chemistry that is unmistakable. Though ever forward-moving, these two show that looking to the past can be timeless.

The duo's strong and deep-rooted musical direction provides both a solid foundation and a wide margin for artistic creativity. With a sweeping spectrum of influences, Jaden South's music is their modern spin on the classic rock and singer-songwriters they grew up loving. While certainly swayed by contemporary artists and songwriters, the rich influence of luminaries like Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, Joni Mitchell, Heart, Neil Young and Jackson Browne brands Jaden South's sound as decidedly retro in its leanings.

Deborah and Jessica met and struck up a friendship several years ago in Nashville during college. Upon realizing their mutual interests in eclectic music and songwriting the two began collaborating musically and, soon thereafter, decided to form Jaden South. An amalgamation of qualities including classical training, a raw and natural sense for musical craftsmanship and seasoned performance experience make this partnership truly dynamic.

In 2005 Deborah and Jessica headed to New York City, where their versatile abilities and distinctive sound steadily gained recognition. Shows at heralded venues including The Living Room and a residency at Greenwich Village's famed Kenny's Castaways helped establish the two and their band as successful and growing talents in the NYC music scene.

In early 2008 the duo relocated back to Nashville to begin work on their debut album. At the producer's helm is Grammy winner David Leonard (Prince, John Mellencamp, the Indigo Girls), who is also recording and mixing the project. The album is slated for release in April 2009 via independent distribution and digital platforms.
