Bio

JADE REDD, was discovered and produced by award winning composer Jay Ferguson (The Office, Thunder Island, Spirit & Jo Jo Gunne.)

Jay was drawn to James' infectious melodies and charmed by the dichotomy of Madalena's ethereal vocal style and her outgoing, accessible personality.

The initial limited release of their debut album "Rivers of Stone", reached No. 1 on CD BABY’s best seller chart and remains the second all time best seller in their category.

Their single, "Rescue Me" received an official Grammy Entry in 2005 for "best instrumental arrangement accompaning a vocalist".

JADE REDD got their feet into the Hollywood door when Madalena was personally selected by Oliver Stone to perform the guide track for Angelina Jolie for the film "Alexander". Their compositions can be heard in the recently released film "Paradise, Texas" starring Timothy Bottoms, and James and Madalena will also be featured in "Americanizing Shelley", a Hollywood meets Bollywood comedy that will make its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.

JADE REDD has been described as a cross between Enya and Evanescence, yet still uniquely original. James Briggs continues to be greatly influenced by mentor Ken Benshoof, founder of the Kronos Quartet.

The sound of JADE REDD is matched by a strong visual sense centered on the striking, red haired Madalena. Their album artwork and their highly acclaimed music video, "The Tower", testify to their goal of creating not just a record, but an experience of all the senses.
