Jae Camilo is award winning r&b/pop artist who comes from a proud Dominican heritage. Jae's music inspires people through her in depth lyrics and diverse rhythms. Jae’s original sound and bold word play separates her from other artists in the music industry. Jae is definitely in a league of her own. She dominates the stage with her titillating performances and stellar voice. With exceptional work ethic and great perseverance Jae has managed to defy the odds. So with that passion, she was awarded by the UMA's (Underground Music Awards) for best female artist of the year, this past August 2009 at the famous BBKing club and theater in New York.

At the tender age of one, Jae’s mother would play various types of music to her from Latin, Rhythm and Blues to Country. When Jay was five years old her mother took notice that Jay had such a strong voice. She saw her singing and dancing to a song that was playing on the radio. At that moment Jae's mother realized that her daughter was blessed with a huge talent and decided to take interest in developing her various talents. Jae's mother has always been a strong influence in her life. She taught Jae how to be a strong independent woman with great morals and ethics. She has always been a strong support and mentor to Jae. From taking her for vocal lessons, dance lessons or acting classes to just being her shoulder when she suffered disappointment. She noticed the performer in Jae and wanted to bring out the star quality in her.

Jae is now 22 years old and has developed into a very successful individual. She is the proud owner of four well-established businesses. She owns three hair salons and a professional dance studio where she teaches young children different genres of dance. Even though Jae is very successful she has not achieved the level of success that she wishes to acquire. Jae is ready to conquer the music world and declare her spotlight. Determined to succeed, Jae decided to step up to the plate and go out on a quest in search of a recording contract. Jae achieved a lot of success but also suffered a lot of disappointment. Being a young woman on a mission to achieve her dream was not enough to protect Jae from imposters and scam artists who portrayed themselves to producers or A&R’s who will guide her straight to fame. Unfortunately these people only wished to exploit her beauty and talent for their own selfish purposes. One day Jae had an epiphany. She realized how toxic her situation was and decided to leave the posers and the music industry behind. What Jae did not realize was the decision she made on that day, would catapult her to the star that she is destined to be.

Jae’s demo was passed along to Nicole Brown, Senior Executive A&R of New day music group, a successful production company that would in turn shape the dynamic and direction of her life. Nicole loved her demo and decided to pass her on to Tyrik “Keyz” Washington, super producer and CEO of New Day Music Group. Keyz quickly realized the star quality that Jae possessed and decided to place her in his artist development program. After working with Jae on developing a new sound and craft, Keyz decided to take Jae to the next level. On July 29, 2008, Jae Camilo came one step closer to her dream by signing with New Day Music Group. Jae describes that day as the day she was saved. Jae was no longer a victim. She buried her past and awoke the phoenix inside her and rose from the ashes to become the star she always wanted to be.

Since signing with New Day Music Group, Jae has already accomplished a lot over a short period of time. She has her first single out on itunes called "Middle Finger" which has generated a lot of buzz. The song "Middle Finger" is a direct mirror of Jae's personality. It is a song about female empowerment and not settling for less than what you are worth. Jae has also been fortunate enough to headline her own 24-city tour, which is very successful. Her performances dazzle as she commands the stage with her provocative persona and versatile voice. On her tour, Jae is able to connect with people from various backgrounds, especially women, who stated that they loved her music and could relate to all her songs. Jae songs speak of everyday life, trials and tribulations. She is known for touching on topics most artists would refrain from discussing.

On her upcoming album Jae touches on topics like female infidelity, emotional abuse and finding love through the storm. Jae’s sound definitely crosses over to different genres of music. She has a distinct sound that is a medium between pop, rock and R&B. Jae's much-anticipated album captures her larger than life personality and unique style. Jae is a beautiful person inside and out. She gives back to her community every year by doing a clothing drive through her salon for the Salvation Army. Through this charity, Jae has donated a lot of clothing for the homeless and people in need
