"Jaecar and Genesis Renji conjure warmer temps with 'Take You Down'"

After just releasing his second EP, “What Happened to Love,” Jaecar has released a new single with Genesis Renji.

“Take You Down” captures the duo’s dynamic and animated vivacity and creates a palpable feeling of sunnier days and warmer temperatures.
With a funky, Chance-inspired beat fitting for the approaching summer season, the energetic track is fully representative of the Milwaukee artist.

While hip-hop is his natural inclination and a major underlying tone to the song, Jaecar diversifies his sound, blending pop and R&B elements into his work.

“When I made the beat, I knew I wanted it to be something everybody could have fun too, something for the ladies. So I started freestyling, and instead of rapping the hook I decided to sing, and get someone else to rap on it,” Jaecar says.

“I had a studio session scheduled with Genesis and I just told him, ‘Bro, I have this joint that I need you on and it fits you perfectly, it’s a little different but I know you’re going to kill it.’ Genesis was like, ‘Let me hear it,’ and of course the rest is history.” - 88Nine Radio Milwaukee - Stephanie Baghai

"AUDIO: Jaecar Featuring Genesis Renji – “Take You Down”"

While we’ve seen his softer side in the past, Milwaukee artist Jaecar is back with a new hyped-up single featuring Genesis Renji, “Take You Down”. In just about three minutes, the duo put together a footwork-ready track that has a Chicago juke feel to it. Genesis Renji keeps that feel going on his featured verse, with a Chance The Rapper-inspired flow, which normally might feel like biting, but we know that Gen has plenty more than in his bag of tricks. If the party is in full swing, this is the song that needs to be on. We’re getting some consistent output from Jaecar, and we already know that Genesis Renji isn’t slowing down any time soon. - Breaking and Entering

"Jaecar - Real Love"

The plethora of new talent makes waves within Milwaukee’s music scene almost daily it seems, and tracks like the latest from Jaecar, “Real Love”, is no exception. The track deals with a feeling that almost everyone can relate to, desire to find a genuine soulmate, and that is brought to life with the Milwaukee artists’ unique blend of hip hop and R&B. The track is self-produced, along with assistance from Keira White and Cam’ron White, and is again a testament to the diversity of Jaecar as both an artist and producer. We did get an album from Jaecar last year, but this may be a sign that there is more on the way for 2019. Check out “Real Love” below: - Breaking and Entering

"AUDIO: KALEO – “IDNNB (I DON’T NEED NOBODY)”"

Fresh faces are popping up all the time in the Milwaukee music scene, and one of the newest names could definitely make a solid impact with a different approach to his sound. Kaleo recently released “IDNNB (I Don’t Need Nobody)”, which puts together hip hop and R&B with a unique style of his own. Citing influence from Afro-Sheik Ghetto Priest, a socially conscious Milwaukee artist from the 90’s, Kaleo brings in smooth group vocals with well crafted delivery on his verses. The track comes from his upcoming debut EP, “Forced To Speak”, which is being prepared to drop early next year. It’ll be interesting to see how this unique approach to hip hop and R&B plays out in the course of a full project, but you can get a preview with “IDNNB” below: - Breaking and Entering

"Audio - Kaleo - She Knows"

Last week, Milwaukee artist Kaleo added to his young, yet expanding catalog of work with his newest single, “She Knows”. The track mixes R&B and hip hop into a smooth blend, featuring some chilled out self-production as well. This will likely be part of Kaleo’s upcoming debut EP, “Forced To Speak”, which is set to drop sometime this spring. The momentum is definitely moving in the right direction with tracks like this one, though. We’ll be waiting for the EP, but for now, check out “She Knows” below: - Breaking and Entering

"Audio: Jaecar - "What Happened To Love?""

The evolution of Milwaukee hip hop / R&B crossover act Jaecar is visible with every new release. His latest EP, “What Happened To Love”, is his strongest work yet, following up the already impressive “Forced To Speak” project from last year and the “Real Love” single that came out this past January. The single is also featured on this EP, but at the end, following four other very solid efforts, including standout tracks like “Nights Alone” featuring J’Mika and “Moving On”. Whether delivering a slick flow in his verses or crooning a hook, Jaecar shows incredible potential on this project. Milwaukee’s R&B scene is evolving rapidly, and releases like this one help put Jaecar’s name in the conversation as to who is leading the pack. - Breaking and Entering Milwaukee

Bio

Limitless in skills and a mastermind of artistry, Jaecar is a diverse music artist who has adopted hip-hop as his niche and more often than not, infuses his music with the elements of pop and R&B. Yet, his music is profound and reaches beyond the restrictions of a genre. It is deep, raw, warm, tasteful, and inspiring.
Born, raised and currently a resident of Milwaukee, WI, Jaecar’s venture into the music industry was inspired by his older siblings- brother and a sister- who would writer and record self-made music. It was his older sister’s poetic lyric that gave him the encouragement to rap and thereafter, he discovered the liberty of creativity that music offered which became one of the greatest reasons why he pursued a career in the industry.

So far, Jaecar believes that his performance on March 2nd, 2018 for the ‘Run MKE Hometown Contest Showcase’ was one of his best ever stage performances. Other than that, his shows are known for being quite moody, depending on the vibe of the music, the theme of the show, and the energy of the crowd; sometimes, the shows are upbeat with an electric hype, while other times, his shows are mellow and intimate, allowing him to connect with the audience.  Numerous times, his voice has been compared to that of J. Cole and Drake, two of the greatest icons of the modern day hip-hop. And as flattering as that is, Jaecar believes that his sound is entirely a production of his own prodigy and is unique, individually.

Jaecar’s latest EP mix tape, ‘Force To Speak’ was released not too long ago. And despite being a hit amongst his audiences, he still believes that there is a lot of room for improvement which is why, he is focusing on building his own brand name, crafting his own lyrics, working on visuals, and getting as many live performances as he can to set out on tour.
