Bio

Jeff Menefee is an alternative hip hop artiste which sub-genre revolves around reggae; he goes by the name "Jahagree". He was born in Alexandria, Virginia United States. He was musically incline from an early age of seven, where he taught himself how to play the drum and since then he continued to pursue playing drums in numerous amount of bands. Jahagree, also a poet, wrote notebooks of poetry throughout his life. After a trip to Jamaica he was intrigued by the culture and music; this is where he got a musical epiphany that changed his life. Jahagree construed his poetry to beats; this is where his musical transition from a drummer to a vocalist was born.

He started out doing reggae music, with his musical influences steming from: Damian Marley, Jah Cure, Luciano, Peter tosh, nas, string cheese incident, and I-Wayne. He later on switched it up, and began rapping while still keeping true to his love for reggae. He dropped his first mixtape "Notebook After Notebook" back in 2008, and since then has put out an album as well as dropping 6 other mixtapes. Jahagree was also featured on two of DJ Green Lantern's mixtapes "2010 Takeover" and "The Dirty Invasion", and most recently he did a collaboration with Reggae artist, Perfect, called “Rasta Liviation”, Jah Cure “Protect us” and Lutan Fyah called “Humble Vision”. Still pursuing his dream he manages to multitask managing himself and his music.
He has his own independent recording label called Jahagree ink records. He is anticipating his fifth visit to Jamaica in 2013 to shoot videos with his collaborated singles with Jah cure and Lutan Fyah. He also plans to work with other producer and get closer with the roots of reggae.
