Bio

JahIrationz is a roots reggae group which begins its journey in the heart of the Caribbean on the island of Montserrat, where they were brought up. Born in Santiago Chile, their family moved to Montserrat after a military coup that took place in 1973, forcing thousands to leave Chile. Migrating to the United States in 1981, they took an interest in music and began playing in the school's music courses such as Wind Ensemble, Varsity Jazz Ensemble and the Marching Band. By late 1986 they formed their first reggae group called "Iration". They presented themselves for the first time at the Annual School Talent Show with Jamaican frontman Supa who eventually became their manager dealing with bookings and the group quickly began playing at local pubs and college gigs. In 1991 they played their first major show at the 1991 Reggae Sunsplash in Greensboro North Carolina, along side reggae acts like JC lodge, Moja Nya and Awareness Art Ensemble. In April of 1992 they landed in Kingston Jamaica, where they recorded their first single titled "The Day After" published on the Mission 101 label by Mr. Loran Hector.

In 1994, they decided to visit their beloved homeland Chile and they quickly established themselves as one of the leading reggae bands within the national musical scene which made an issue with Shaggy on the front page of the magazine The Reggae Report. They became the opening act for large festivals including the "Natural Mystic Festival" which showcased legendary groups like The Wailers, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs and Los Pericos, to name a few, with a large attendance of 80,000 people. They were then chosen to be the backing band for Kymani Marley's first vist to Chile along side acts like Lauryn Hill and Autenticos Decadentes, which had an attendance of around 40,000 people. They went on to back-up artist like Andrew Tosh and Junior Kelly among others. They also opened up for acts like Matisyahu.

Upon returning to the United States, they recorded and mixed their debut album entitled "In Exile" which was released in the year 2000 on their own independant label Zam Jam Records. They once again began touring the east coast and presenting themselves at festivals like the 2008 First Annual Budweiser Summer Fest in Washington DC which included artists like Beres Hammond, Kymani Marley, I-Wayne and Etana amoung others. They then went on to work with Jamaican American Reggae Garmmy winning producer/songweiter Kemar "Flava" Mcgregor who released the single "Love Light" on the Reggae Platinum Compilation Series in 2012. They also recorded with reggae legend Eek-A-Mouse and released the single "Deportation" on their Zam Jam International label and followed up by producing and composing the music for the single Purge Your Soul by Jamaican artist Alex Marley.  Soon after they received an offer to buy their bands name "Iration" by Hawain based group and upon not selling, became involved in a legal dispute over the name and their Patent registration was opposed. After a few years of dispute, including being misrepresented by their hired law firm from Beverly Hills, they were financially unable to retain the name and so the project JahIrationz was born. Love Light was then reissued by Mr. McGregor in 2015 and jahIrationz released their second single with the great Yami Bolo titled Love and Salvation in early 2017 on their own Zam Jam International label. They also recorded and released their first limited edition promotional single "Andes Roots Sound" as a 12" vinyl on the Zam Jam International label in 2014. Jahirationz is currently recording and mixing their debut album at the legendary Lion & Fox Recording Studios in Washington DC by the great record producer and mixing engineer Jim Fox which is scheduled to be released  in 2019 .

Jahirationz means Creations of the Most High in whatever form or name you may chose to view or experience this energy life force. Their foundation is roots reggae, but also have a unique sound which includes latin influences, r & b, hip-hop, jazz, south american instruments or perhaps in other words the genre of World Music.
