Bio

It all started when I had a dream to complete my own album. I, Jaheed Bell, have built all of my own original music compositions abroad from the American and New York pressures that began to besiege me. So I had set off on a journey to the Netherlands to find out more about my biological father's roots and to finally meet and locate my youngest living sibling. Through it all there were so many ups and downs and all I could do to express my emotions, was write. Now, music runs in my blood and at that time, I was feeling out the Dutch nightlife and the locals. Ironically in some unknowingly ordained way, my network in Holland's bigger cities almost doubled in one year. It led me to various highly skilled and strong-valued musicians, singers and engineers that have been and still are key players in helping me accomplish my dream and the completion of my album.

I have spent the last five years building up a special and very specific selection of music for most ages and cultures to appreciate. An album project that represents every bit of my blood, sweat, tears and journey overseas. Surprisingly, I've been able to connect my personal experiences with a very contrasting yet, representative musical path. An electric experience of Pop, Nu-Jazz and Trip-Hop with a show-tuney ambiance. All written by me and produced with absolutely no budget, simply my own drive, American, Dutch-born and international persons of equal vision regarding quality music. This is how I met Shirley Spoor, my soprano backing vocal in 2006 and more recently Jordy van Toornburg my Alto tenor backing. The producers I work with are bananas and all come from very different musical disciplines. Our collective's influences stem from deep roots in Jazz, Pop, Hip Hop, Latin and Nu-Wave Electronica...classic sounds like Ella Fitzgerald, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Michael Jackson and newer movements like J*Davey, Eric Roberson, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Ryan Leslie.
