Jah Stranjah

Spirituality is what upcoming artiste Jah Stranjah plans to bring to the music business.

The artiste, real name James Clark, has been singing since his youth, but became serious about the music industry in 2001. Since then, he has taken a very spiritual path.

"I mostly sing about spirituality, intellectual stuff and nature; the Almighty power. Entertainment is important, but spirituality comes before everything," he said.

With his style of singing and chan-ting, Jah Stranjah has done songs like Dancehall and Earth Again, for which he also has music videos
. And, more recently, he did another song called Green Hill.

In 2004, he also released a CD called Earth Again, which he said is still doing well. He has also performed at shows in places like Detroit, Arizona, Maryland and Washington, D.C.

In addition, Jah Stranjah has performed with the likes of Jigsy King, Garnett Silk, Beres Hammond and Buju Banton.

However, "I don't base my music on how many people applaud it," he told THE STAR, while saying that his music had been doing great.

And, although he owns a business called Jah-Mek-Yah Telecom in Washington, D.C., Jah Stranjah still finds time for his music and to visit Jamaica, as he has someone else who manages the business when he is not around.

Hence, "I go wherever the music goes. I believe in music and the truth. I am so natural as the trees. Music is a part of life. I will continue doing music. Music has no boundaries," the Clarendon-born Jah Stranjah told THE STAR.
