Biography

With a debut single, yet untitled due out early summer 2007, followed by the Album, INEVITABLE late 2007, critics and fans alike anticipate her powerful combination of raw, edgy, direct, no-holds barred street lyrics with her rhythmic alto sensual delivery over heavy baselines, drums and smooth mid-tempos sound that narrates life, love, pain, and soul

JE WELZ. Pronounced (Jay-e-Wells) often compared to a Foxy Brown or Lil Kim and referenced to alternately a female B.I.G or NAS, JE had little in common stylistically with either of those female artists, but like them helped adorn rap music with style and lyrics that inspires a whole generation of Female Rappers. With big brown eyes, self-preserving style, and trend setting hairstyles, JE is street-tough and beautiful all at once.
Born in the Bronx on March 26, JE spent up until her last year in high school in the Bronx, before moving with her mother to Charlotte NC in the 12th grade. Her mother relocated her from a New York City rough life, but the dramatic change of a slower paced city produced harm and a few scars, physical and otherwise, and JE dropped out of College her junior year, instead spending time running the streets, hustling, and hanging out. Always active in entertainment going as far back to her infant years, JE has always felt those creative juices flowing through her body. Whether through dancing and/or fashion styling, these juices were her outlet of expression and decided to leave the streets alone and pursue a career in the music industry.
Her influences range from Kool G Rap, Scarface, The Notorious B.I.G. and Nas. MC LYte and Lauryn Hill are some of the women in Hip Hop who were also influential.
In 2000 she opened for Digital Underground and has current positive relationships with many artists; and works with the likes of top named producers in the industry today, like Vinny Idol of D-Block; who is currently producing her album

She has been captivating stages in many NYC clubs and Venues, as well as in other cities across the nation and she performed in Switzerland and Germany.
