Jaimee Lee-Baggley

Jaimee Lee-Baggley was born and raised in Calgary Alberta Canada. It was there that she started to dream about growing up to be an actress in musicals or in theatre. As a young girl she was part of the Youth Singers of Calgary for 8 years; the Royal Conservatory of Music; was once a member of the Calaway Live Dance Troupe as well as an avid participant in school plays. Once high school ended however, Jaimee took a B-line down another performance avenue. She graduated from Integrative Music Studies at Concordia University in Montreal in 2009, studying classical piano and composition with teachers Yaron Ross and Dr. Rosemary Mountain. There she gained experience in writing and arranging for strings, horn ensemble and keyboard, as well as performing in bands. She also was an avid participant in the Montreal Indie Music Scene. She wrote songs and performed in bands Marie Read and Jaimee Lee Band in gigs and festivals, including the North by North-East Festival (2007) and Pop-Phoque (2007 and 2008). In 2007 she collaborated with cartoonist Jackie Koehler and composed the soundtrack for the “Life and Death of Wrigley Chew” which went on to receive several nods from film festivals including the Okanagan Film Festival, the Ottawa Film Festival, The Teletoon Scholarship Film Festival and Kids Alive Festival in New York City. In 2008, deciding to get back to theatre roots, she contributed as a writer and performed as an actor in the Montreal Fringe Festival piece Inertia Dance Production,-”Diverge”, which won The Spirit of the Fringe Award. Since returning back to Calgary she has appeared on an episode of CBC’s Heartland and has worked as an acting coach. As a singer she has performed at numerous venues including the Just for Laughs Cabaret and the Sala Rossa in Montreal, the Supermarket in Toronto, and the Ironwood Stage and Grill, Mikey’s Juke Joint and Parkland Summer Fest in Calgary. When Jaimee is not singing, arranging, acting, playing the piano or writing, she is a performance art instructor in voice and piano at Corner Stone Music Café and privately in Calgary.
