Bio

Every once in a while a talent comes along who grabs everyone’s attention leaving an indelible mark. Jai Reed is an artist who has done just that! When he sings he becomes the vehicle through which the intent of worship and praise is fully recognized. His commanding vocal talent is at a level of brilliant achievement. Please hear Jai in his finest hour on his newest CD release “Jai Reed.” This incredible project features the sensational hit singles "Secret Place", “Praise” and “How Much You Mean To Me” which echoes success!

This project features a smorgasbord of phenomenal known and unknown vocalists, writers and producers. Their fantastic talents coupled with Jai’s creative edge readily document Jai’s labor-intensive versatility on this project. In fact, this project is very dear to Jai because he is a worshipper extraordinaire. His exceptional vocal talent on this project takes melody and harmony in a completely new direction.

This bona fide project is a dynamic masterpiece of remarkable “Worship and Praise” and very edgy “Contemporary Urban” gospel songs. The exceptional lyrics and distinct infused anointing throughout this project defy any defined boundaries. Significantly, you will experience Jai standing on the edge of an artistic epiphany in another dimension. If you thought you heard his best -- his best just got better! This project is a “must have” for your gospel collection.

Ultimately, Jai encourages his audience to seriously listen to the lyrics resulting in a very extraordinary worship experience. If you enjoyed Jai’s debut project “Anointed For Purpose” you will be absolutely thrilled with his signature masterpiece “Jai Reed.”

He deliberately opens his heart and let his music evolve into the most worshipful musical story which ends well! At the onset on cut one, you enter His gates with “Praise.” While the “Praise” is going up, you ascend into the “Secret Place.” While in the presence of God -- God confirms to you “I Will Ease Your Pain.” Now, totally assured, you just lose yourself in worship and openly convey “How Much You Mean To Me.” At this point in worship, you cry loud to God, “Cover Me!” Ascending higher and lost in the spirit you tearfully say, “Have I Told You,” Lord I “Love Ya” and “You Alone.” The depths of God’s refreshing presence solidifies the “Joy In Serving God” and you return to the “Secret Place” and “Start Over Again.”. Wow! What an anointed project!

Jai’s compelling musical heritage is rooted and grounded in the rich and distinct musical culture of the “Big Easy” New Orleans. Singing is not foreign to Jai. When he was six years old, he started singing for friends, family and local church groups. As a teenager, he became a member of the group Endurance; along with group members William Maxwell, Bryon Pierce (Men of Standard), Edward West (Collage) and the late Michael Robinson. This group launched Jai’s professional music career.

Currently, Jai holds elite recognition of being nominated for the 24th Annual Stellar Awards as Male Vocalist of the Year 2009. He gave an extraordinary performance of his single “Anointed Me” on the Stellar's national televised show. He can also be seen on the Bobby Jones program on the Word Network. Jai gave a remarkable performance for Dr. Bobby Jones’ 70th birthday celebration.

Other significant accomplishments for Jai are quite impressive. He was the nominee of the Big Easy Foundation for a Big Easy Music Award in the category of Best Gospel Individual along with Bishop Paul Morton and Jai was announced the “Winner.” He was also the Stellar Gospel Music Awards nominee for New Artist of the Year award. Surely, God’s magnificent favor rests upon Jai Reed in phenomenal measure.

A quick glance at Jai’s repertoire of performances is stunningly extraordinary. He has toured with two outstanding stage plays, Michael Matthew’s production of “Mama I’m Sorry” and Tyler Perry’s “I Know I’ve Been Changed.”

He has shared the stage with legendary artists such as Shirley Murdock (“A Woman’s Point Of View” and “Let There Be Love,” Electra Records), Melba Moore (“Lean On Me” and “Lift Every Voice” and Sing”), David Preston (“Two Wrongs Don’t Make It Right,” “Don’t Say No,” and “Can I,” Geffen Records), Mixed Emotions (including “Luxury of Love,” MCA) and many others.

Jai’s musical career is remarkably extensive, he was formerly a member of the group Nu-Beginnings with two remarkably gifted vocalists, Melaney Batiste and Erica Falls. They released their debut project entitled “Where He Leads Me.”

His international credits yield outstanding performances too. Jai traveled abroad with Nu-Beginnings to Brazil, France, Spain, Italy, Finland and other venues. In 2001, the group recorded their second project “Live In Brazil,” abroad. He has blessed the masses globally with his music, message and ministry. Their domestic credits are also quite impressive.
