Bio

Jeremy Kays seems like your regular So Cal boy through and through. His mega watt smile and blonde-hair blue-eyes combo are sure to make girls swoon. Not to mention his acoustic guitar and lyrics are just as swoon-worthy.

This 22-year-old Camarillo resident as been interested in music since he was a little tyke in his G.I Joe undies and cowboy boots sitting in front of the T.V. watching Garth Brooks while playing with his mother’s Spanish guitar. “I would play around, break strings, try to tune it,” said Kays.

His interest and curiosity became a serious passion after a few years of playing bass. He taught himself how to play both bass and guitar. When he was in the 8th grade he found his voice and began writing lyrics and singing in a band. Today he has, “tons of lyrics, I have notebooks full,” said Kays.

Although he is influenced by his Christian beliefs he does not want to focus on just that crowd of people. He has played in a death metal band (Panthers Who Gouge Out The Eyes Of Children And Feast Upon Their Innards), an indie rock/acoustic band (Maygin Red), and a pop/punk band (Lickedy Split), in a number of venues such as BB Kings at Universal City Walk, Alpine, Rock City, The Verity Room, California Lutheran University, The Gathering Grounds, The Fallout, Ventura Theater, The Derby, Angel City Cafe, Experimental Cafe, Starbucks, Element Coffee, Grand Canyon University, North Star Coffee, Live Culture, The Need, Prototypes, Fiddler's Dream, many churches, and various cities and venues in Europe.

For him music is like a religion, it’s something he can get lost in.

“[Performing] for me is just totally emotional,” said Kays, “volume starts going up, I start playing harder, I play my heart out. Sometimes I play to where I can’t breathe anymore, to where I go dizzy.”

Most recently he traveled to Eastern Europe and played everyday, twice a day. This is exactly what he would love to do with his music.
“My music goal is just to make people smile,” said Kays, “I don’t care about making money I just want to play and make people feel happy.”
