Lyrics

Little Black Dress

Written By: Jake Moffat

My life was torn, I’d put up a wall
I’d sunk so low, I’d lost my soul

And you’d wait, patiently, for me to call
I was lost in a hell, I made all alone

I can see you there, Image crystal clear
Give my life for the things I had done
Don’t want this to end, don’t want see you in Your little black dress

Months have gone by, no need to cry
Hope is I’ll try, my chin held high

And you’d wait, patiently, on me to call
I was lost in a hell, I made all alone

I can see you there, image crystal clear
Give my life for the things I had done
Don’t want this to en, don’t want to see you in your little black dress

What’s Left of You

Written By: Jake Moffat

I know I’m in your way, I hear it in every word you say. I hope someday you’ll find, a kind heart and some piece of mind

So here we are, picking up, whats left of you, whats left of me And I know, I know, it’ll take some time, to get over you while you getting’ over me

Sometimes my words weren’t right, ending most talks in a fight.
Now all these miles on the road, further from my heart you’ll grow
So here we are, picking up, whats left of you, whats left of me And I know, I know, it’ll take some time, to get over you while your getting’ over me

And you know it’s killin’ me all those times that I had made you Cry and then you’d come back and cut me so deep…
So here we are, picking up, whats left of you, whats left of me And I know, I know, it’ll take some time, to get over you while your getting’ over me

Find Yourself

Written By: Jake Moffat

Would it hurt you just to ask me where I’ve been all night, instead of pretending your fake smiles make you feel alright. Like when you emptied my pockets and on my ciggerrets is a number of a girl you know, you don’t have to fake it, now you’re hurting inside you don’t have to take it.

When your whole world feels like its spinning and you don’t know when to stop pretending You just need to stop, dig down deep, and find yourself.

I sit here and watch all these people walk on by with a touch of pain to their eyes, like the ones who are too tired so they shove everything way down inside. It’s time for the people to quit living in their carefree little happy worlds, you know you don’t have to fake it, when you’re hurting inside you don’t have to take it

When your whole world feels like it’s spinning and you don’t know when to stop pretending You just need to stop, dig down deep, and find yourself

Standing up there every night being on display for hundreds of eyes, it’s not easy being up there pouring your soul out into every song. It gets heard to wear a smile every time when I’m feeling so god damn empty inside. Now I won’t fake it, I’m hurting inside and these chains I’ll break’em

When your whole world feels like its spinning and you don’t know when to stop pretending You just need to stop, dig down deep, and find yourself.

Comfortable

Written By: Jake Moffat

It’s another night, I made another mile, I count the little white lines Just 30 miles is my hometown, I broke hearts and left for good Going back really wasn’t my plan but I heard you got married ‘bout a year ago Damn near town with the windows down, the air is heavy from the rumor mill

Even when I brake and fall, Even when I brake and fall You’d be walking tall above it all…I was still stuck with…

Whiskey on my breath, smoke in my eyes, losing my soul mile after mile I don’t know where I’m going, I don’t think about where I’ve been As long as there’s distance I can be…comfortable again.

Seems when we’d fight, I’d take to flight and disappear into the setting sun I’d show my face in a few days, masked in pills and alcohol You’d pray for me and I’d just laugh and tell you I was far too gone Whats done is done and now I pray in my dark years you felt love

Even when I brake and fall, Even when I brake and fall You’d be walking tall above it all…

Whiskey on my breath, smoke in my eyes, losing my soul mile after mile I don’t know where I’m going, I don’t think about where I’ve been As long as there’s distance I can be…comfortable again.

Thin Line

Written By: Jake Moffat

It seems the time for us has come to save
This friendship that we started again, doesn’t mean a thing

Here we go walking that thin line, I’m not waiting for you
I wont stop on a dime. Now that we’re headed back to where we’ve
Been changes are coming, I’ll see you again.

Sometimes all that’s real is not what it seems
Never knowing what to say, doesn’t mean a thing

Here we go walking that thin line, I’m not waiting for you
I won’t stop on a dime. Now that we’re headed back to where we’ve
Been changes are coming, I’ll see you again.

Please

Written By: Jake Moffat

Would you be willing to sacrifice your morals and self-control
They say it’s the price you for living on the go.
Life will get harder you know, people come and they will go
And then you’ll find yourself like me, digging out a hole
Would you come and save me, break the chains and set me free
On my knees I’m begging please, so won’t you come and save me?
You see it’s the only way I know, living on my own
I kind of grew up this way, I kinda miss my home
Wish I could go back to that, but it’s hard without a soul
Spend the day locked in my room sleeping off it all.
Would you come and save me, break the chains and set me free
On my knees I’m begging please, so won’t you come and save me?
Would you come and save me, break the chains and set me free
On my knees I’m begging please, so won’t you come and save me?

Gray

Written By: Jake Moffat

I walked through the gates at 6am, the day would tell me who I am
For 8 long years I’ve been locked in the pen, the reality is grim.

All I know, is all I was…

Before my eyes, everything is changing to color, theres no more black and white
I felt so safe, when I was locked away, where there is no gray.

I walked pass the house that started this all, I see a few familiar shadows on the wall.
Just a few of my friends stuck in our old ways, holding their own lives away.

All they know, is all they were….

Before my eyes, everything is changing to color, theres no more black and white
I felt so safe, when I was locked away where there is no gray.
All I can do is trace the images of you, now I can get away my feelings are so true

All I know, is all I was…

Before my eyes, everything is changing to color, theres no more black and white
I felt so safe when I was locked away where there is no gray.

Lately

Written By: Jake Moffat

They’re gonna say what they say, people change and go their own ways
Until they’re lost on their own, trying to find which way to go
You know you can’t find home, when you split spirit from the soul
Then you’ll be on your knees screaming rescue me

Well now, have I told you lately, not to be anticipating? In the blink of and eye it will
Pass you by…and that’s the day you will say goodbye.

I’ve been at it again, I couldn’t tell you where I’ve been
The last 15 years, I wrecked myself and all my friends
Like a devil I fought, to bring myself to where I am
If it was a flight or a fight, nervous but tall I’d stand.

Well now, have I told you lately, not to be anticipating? In the blink of an eye it will
Pass you by…and that’s the day you will say goodbye.

It’s hard to say where I’d be, without your grace and sympathy
Even at my worst, through your anger you’d show love first
You’ve made me who I am, you taught your son to be man.
Even if I fall back down, I know you’ll take my hand.

Well now, have I told you lately, not to be anticipating? In the blink of an eye it will
Pass you by….and that’s the day you will say goodbye.

Broken

Written By: Jake Moffat

You take all of me, you give me all of you, you think I need sometimes it’s not enough, it hurts.

I’d get high and you’d cry from the bathroom floor I see your face
I’m tired of chasing dreams so far away

Every time you push me it just hurt me to see, Something broken before me when you’re all I need.

I’ve been changing ways, I’ve been looking for my sober days Sometimes it’s a fight, to get it right.

I’d get high and you’d cry from the bathroom floor I see your face
I’m tired of chasing dreams so far away

Every time you push me it just hurt me to see, Something broken before me when you’re all I need.

Coming Down

Written By: Jake Moffat

The room closes in
Lights hit my blinds
Thoughts of where I was
Slowly leave my mind

Coming down again, was really
getting rough
Its getting harder to pick you up.
If you could only see where I am now
I’d point your finger back at you some how.

Time stands still
Slowly takes my will
Control I’ve always failed
This time I’ll win

Coming down again, was really
getting rough
Its getting harder to pick you up.
If you could only see where I am now
I’d point your finger back at you some how.

Slowly days turn in to years
Hiding away our deepest fear
Wondering if you’ll even see
The changes that I’ve made in me

Coming down again, was really
getting rough
Its getting harder to pick you up.
If you could only see where I am now
I’d point your finger back at you some how.

Scream

Written By: John Filanow,Jake Moffat

I was lost in drowning sorry, blind and could not see
Come here and pick me up from off my knees

Scream my name from above, its like the sigh of an angels love
So let your voice heal the pain, until I sleep again

Find me now in this waste land, I do believe
Everything I found in life, was what I’d need.

Scream my name, from above, Its like the sigh of an angels love
So let your voice, heal the pain, until I sleep again

Through your screams I found myself, to let you be
Turn it around at the end of the drive, and bring it back to me

Scream my name from above, its like the sigh of an angels love
So let your voice, heal the pain, until I sleep again.
