Biography

With influences like Elvis Costello, Elton John, Billy Joel, James Taylor and Butch Walker, it’s no wonder why the gifted musician, singer, songwriter Jake Coco has the music industry in a buzz. With his soulful eyes, refreshing boy next-door looks, and a passionate voice the sounds well beyond his 21 years, Jake Coco has everything it takes to become the next big thing in music.

Jake was born in Cleveland Ohio in 1984, and was raised by his single mother Patricia. She introduced him to the violin at the tender age of two, and from there Jake began his long voyage down the wave of music. After mastering the violin in only five years, Jake decided to move on to other musical instruments. At the age of nine, he taught himself guitar and began learning the power of percussion using a drum set that was given to him by his stepfather. By the age of fourteen Jake was performing on a regular basis at local jazz, blues and rock and roll clubs playing everything he could from the drums and piano to the guitar and the bass.

After graduating high school in 2002, Jake was faced with a big decision. He was offered a full ride scholarship to the “Berklee School of Music” for his spectacular performing abilities on the drums. He was also given another opportunity to tour with his band “Spenser”. Following his passion for music and his love of performing, Jake decided to stick beside his band and began learning all his knowledge of performing on the road. “Spenser” played in small clubs and colleges all across the country for two years.

Once back home Jake took pen to paper and began writing his own lyrics and producing his own music that would one day become “Broken Hearts and Fairytales”. Jake was then faced with another difficult decision. Stay with the band that had become his family, or spread his wings and fly. Jake followed his heart and began his journey as a solo artist. He locked himself in his basement studio for nearly four months, where he wrote, arranged, produced, mixed and mastered the songs that became the album “Broken Hearts and Fairytales”.

After finishing his album, Jake packed up his life, kissed his mother goodbye, and made his move cross country to Hollywood. It was hard for him to leave everything he had known, but he knew it had to be done if he wanted to succeed and take his musical career to the next level. Jake’s music is a raw and unfiltered view of the lessons he has learned in life thus far. With the complexity of many different relationship that have come and gone over time, including girlfriends, best friends and his nonexistent biological father, Jake’s music is not only touching and heartfelt, but descriptive and true to the human emotion.

Jake Coco is truly what dreams are made of, and “Broken Hearts and Fairytales” is the soundtrack of his life, and maybe yours as well.

Graceland

Written By: Jake Coco

I can’t move on. Should I let go?
It’s always better when you’re there.
But you’ll move on. You’ll never let go.
I’m sure it’s better when you’re there.
It’s always better when you’re there.
Graceland’s falling and you’re still calling, you make me want to fly.
You’re my savior, my favorite flavor. Take me home tonight.
Cuz Graceland’s gone tonight…
Memories of my better days, of a world I never knew.
Sweet symphonies, you were my better days. You’re the world I never knew.
You’re the world I never knew.

You were my better days, you were my symphonies, and you’re still calling…

Angels

Written By: Jake Coco

With every little word that you say,
I can see you slipping away.
Everybody’s coming closer, telling me that
this is over.
And I can see you slipping away.

But I’ve seen angels turn into sinners, and
I’ve seen summers turn into winters.
I’m singing please take me home tonight.

With every little thing that you do,
Another little lie that comes true.
And everything I know’s deluded.
You make me feel like I’m secluded.
And I can see you slipping away.

With every little thing that I hear,
Another thing that I come to fear.
We used to be so pretty baby.
And now I barely know you lately.
And I can see you slipping away.

Old T-Shirt

Written By: Jake Coco

It’s been three weeks since I’ve heard from you, and my bed sheets are screaming cuz they miss you
too. It’s looking like I’m sleeping alone again tonight. I’ve got a clean slate waiting with your name on the
chalk, come over now baby get me outta the dark. I’m laying here playing solitaire hoping I see you. And
I’m hoping that you’re coming back tomorrow, because I’m too in love with you to ever let this go. I’ve got
your old T-shirt and your mini skirt waiting for you to come back home. I need you here, oh yes my dear,
so come on home.

I wrote ten love songs with your name in the title; prayed to Jesus, Mary, Joseph every man in the Bible;
I’m wishing on a star even though it’s only noon. I’m watching reruns of our favorite shows, my stomach’s
been hurting like nobody knows, I’m jumping up every time I hear my phone ring. Because when you’re in
love, like I’m in love, then everything is not enough. And I’m hoping that you’re coming back tomorrow, cuz
I’m too in love with you to ever let this go. I’ve got your old t-shirt and your mini skirt waiting for you to
come back home. I need you here, oh yes my dear, so come on home.

Footsteps

Written By: Jake Coco

Maybe I’m just dreaming, but lately it’s been seeming like the world is gonna end.
The nights are getting lonely, feels like I’m the only one around, anyhow.
And you can’t write a song, but I can’t paint a picture like you do.
And if you want to know who I am, then hold me close.

I want you tonight, the wrong and the right; I want you in my arms tonight.

Maybe you’re just dreaming, but lately it’s been seeming like you never really sleep.
I hear your footsteps on the floor, I hear you sneaking out the door at night; and that ain’t
right.
He can make you laugh, but could that boy ever truly make you cry.
And if you want to know who I am, then hold me close.

The colors run together, and your star can’t shine forever, cause it burns out when you
and I collide. So let’s pick up the pieces. My heart is broke in pieces on the floor. I’m
broken down now don’t you know.

Bleu for You

Written By: Jake Coco

Go on and sleep in my bed.
Go on and rest your head.
We’ll make the world seem right
If only for tonight.

Cuz I’m so bleu for you,
Said I don’t know what to do.
Yeah, I’m so bleu for you. Said I don’t know what to do

And all the world around doesn’t make a sound.
Cuz all I see is you tonight, and we can make this right

Said I don’t know the words to show the crazy ways that this
could go.
Said I don’t know the words to show how this has to go. Said I
don’t know now, no.

Saturdays

Written By: Jake Coco

So here’s the day you’ve waited for,
A million people screaming at your door,
And everybody’s watching you.
So here’s the man you wanna be, a million people here to see you;
And no one even knows your name.
But I don’t want anyone but you tonight.
A million people never made me feel so right.
Saturdays they come so soon, and everybody waits for you, and no one wants to let you
know you’re dreaming.
So here’s the man you wanna be,
The life you want, the one you wanna lead;
And everybody loves you now.
But where’s the boy she used to know?
I think he’s somewhere where it’s always cold.
At least that’s where she saw him last.

So here’s the day you’ve waited for, a million people screaming at your door, and are you finally happy?
