Jake Stemo

Jake Stemo is an artist from Rockford, IL. Some of his more mainstream influences range across the board from U2 and Cold Play to Owl City, Switchfoot and Dashboard Confessionals. These bands play a small part in the sound that Jake Stemo has captured. He has taken the loop driven pop sound of Owl City and brought it into play with the folk renditions of Mumford and Sons. The sound that is created is one that will send your foot tapping and make you want to dance. A huge part of his inspiration has come from the worship community he is a part of. The bands and songwriters that have influenced his inspiring songs are Chris Tomlin, Kristian Stanfill, All Sons and Daughters, Matt Redman, Andy Cherry and many others. There are few bands out there doing what Jake does as one person. He runs all his loops live through a program called Ableton Live and uses a midi controller called the Ability to trigger all different sequences in his set. This is all driven by his acoustic guitar and a 1960's Leedy bass drum. There are few artists in the music industry creating as BIG of a sound as Jake is and he is doing this as one person on the stage. Jake has opened for the dove award winning bands Sanctus Real and the legendary David Crowder Band with his band In All Things Love. He has also played for camps, retreats and countless worship experiences. Jake will continue to write music, lead worship, play shows and help people be inspired all along the way.
