COLORADO BASED JAKOBZ LADDR plays rough hewn blues - a sultry & wild sound that rocks a mean rhythm, yet is refreshing and new. JAKOBZ LADDR is not your average blues band – they rock blues gems of yore with great original compositions.

Biography

COLORADO BASED BAND - JAKOBZ LADDR is a vehicle of rich, warm, colorful sounds flowing within and about, a sultry siren calling you in to drink from the golden vessel of all that can be the Blues!

Mr. Leavitt grew up with a rich musical landscape of blues and rock - Lightn'n Hopkins, John Lee Hooker, Hendrix, Cream, Grateful Dead, Savoy Brown, the Animals, to name a few. His specialty is a steady rhythm guitar that can flow and glide into deep space explorations and at times coaxes organ phrases from the guitar.

Mr. Miles grew up on the sounds of Metallica, Jane's Addiction, Ministry, Pantera and many more. The sustaining crunch of his tone embroiders perfectly with the rhythm guitar with his own uncanny rhythm and ability with a unique lead style that ignites from the psychedelic patterns.

Juan Dominguez from Ciudad Juarez Mexico grew up heavily influenced by American rock from nearby El Paso. He is forceful and solid on bass, though he could also play any other instrument in the band.

The keen passion of an “R' 'U' Kind” type of consciousness that imparts forceful flowing patterns that blends it all together.

Together there is an aural spark of musical understanding that has grown into a lush soundscape of musical compositions that are at once complex and intricate yet simple and colorful.

The main sense you get when you hear Jakobz Laddr is a fullness of tones, bluesy and distorted & crisp and metallic. The songs evoke a sense of modern timelessness like something new joining something familiar.

Lyrics

The Devil

Written By: Jeff Miles

I can hear the devil
hear him scream at me
he sings his song
I sing along
he won’t let me be

I can feel the devil
feel him on my back
he tries to change
and to derange
then covers me in black

But I can hear an angel
hear her like a breeze
she bellows down
a lofty sound
gets me off my knees

I know there’s a devil
in this world of cruelty
these changing times
and heinous crimes
what will the new world be

but I can see an angel
feel her reach to me
she holds my hand
and I understand
and then she sets me free
