Bio

Symphony. There are a myriad of things that one may envision when they contemplate the definition of a symphony. A symphony beyond the obvious speaks to an agreement and engagement of elements that by design could stand alone, nevertheless for a greater purpose organically will unite. At a glance, over the terrain of a symphonic landscape one may find a man, a musician, a composer, a producer, and executive. All of these components are irrevocably dynamic, isolated from each other, but imagine the kind of movement or revolution that is composed when the man is the musician, composer, producer, and becomes the executive?

Meet Jamar Jones.

At the age of four Jamar was enrolled in a music school in his hometown of Philadelphia where he studied piano and began to compose. His first piano recital featured his own compositions! While a freshman at Temple University, Jamar co-wrote and produced the song, Dear God, for the Boyz ll Men CD, Evolution. Jamar continued to work for several years as a producer with many artists but a major highlight of this tenure was producing the theme song for the movie, Hurricane, which starred Denzel Washington and was performed by Boyz II Men with The Philadelphia Orchestra. He has served as a musical director for both stage artists like Musiq Souldchild and a diverse range of theater projects. Jamar has lent his talents as a producer, arranger, composer, and musician to: Mary Mary, Kindred, Myron Butler, Tamela Mann, Kanye West, Janet Jackson, Jamie Foxx, Deitrick Haddon, Crystal Aiken, Vickie Winans, T.D. Jakes, Usher, Fantasia, Mario, Claudette Ortiz, Floetry, Bruce Parham, Vivian Green, Voices of Theory, Jill Scott, Fred Hammond, Richard Smallwood, Syleena Johnson, The Rickey Minor Band, Patti LaBelle, Denise Rich, Al Kasha, Steven Ford, Warryn Campbell and a host of others.

Jamar currently serves as Executive Director of Music and Fine Arts at the Potter’s House Church of Dallas, Texas, Bishop T. D. Jakes, Senior Pastor. Jamar is married to Alishia Lawson Jones and they reside in Mansfield, Texas with their three children, Jamara, Jada and Jamar, Jr.
