Bio

Jam Balaya is more than just a band. JB is music at its rawest form. Sean, Marcin, and Scorpio all met by chance. In weeks of meeting they figured out what they wanted to do; Hip Hop lyrics and rhythms over rock music. The influence of Rage Against the Machine was immediately there. Sean (vocals) had the hip-hop covered and Marcin (guitar) had the rock portion handled. Scorpio was there to make sure it all happened. From Scorpio’s genius, they created “Focused Aggression”. They went through a few musicians until they found California bred bass player Justin. He brought some pure funk and smoothness without losing energy, to the band. Then they came across a drummer who never played rock music, the Roots drummer Questlove influenced him. He only played R & B and Jazz. Within 3 months he was securing his Rock rhythms with his R & B pocket to create Locked Rock, which fit with the group perfectly. Their name Jam Balaya was adopted because of the versatility in their music. Styles ranging from rock, to hip hop, to funk, to blues. They truly represent that now. Being in LA for only a few months they have upgraded from each venue they have played and increased the number of fans to each show consistently. With that, they caught the eye of one of the biggest promoters in Hollywood who gave them a chance at the very respected Viper Room. After making that appearance and the promoter noting it was the best Sunday night they have had by an unsigned band in a long time. From that gig they were granted permission to play the famous El Rey Theater in Los Angeles. After rocking their fans and the other bands on the bill fans….they definitely know that they deserve the right to go to the next level, and through continuous hard work and discipline, they will.
