Bio

James Anthony has backed up some of the biggest musical artists in the industry. And now, with the release of his seventh CD -- On The Edge -- he makes an impressive, horn-driven leap forward that showcases his massive talent.

From finger-picking acoustic roots blues and slide, to sizzling electric blues, R&B and jazz – James Anthony does it all. He is an unsung Canadian musical treasure.

James' experience in the music industry is reminiscent of legendary players of the past.

James has shared the stage with many of those legends – Big Mama Thornton, Sam Moore, Johnnie Johnson, Eddie Kirkland, Frankie Ford, Willie Big Eyes Smith, Lazy Lester, Dutch Mason, Chuck Jackson, Tony Flaim and Hock Walsh from the Downchild Blues Band, Gene Taylor, and Kenny Neal.

As a member of LuLu's house band, James worked with over 150 Rock & Roll Legends, playing to up to 5,000 people every weekend.

Live Radio and Television concerts have put him on stage with Juno winner Denny Doherty, Patricia Dahlquist and Murray McLaughlin.

James has played on countless records as a session man including jingles, films and documentaries.

He is also an extraordinary teacher and mentor to up-and-coming artists.
