Another child in the world has gone
And brought another child in the world today
So many hardships yet to come
So much joy, yet so much pain
Can a baby raise this baby
Can a baby teach, when they’ve got so much yet to learn
They don’t understand this responsibility
They don’t understand why others show concern

Sometimes we make life much harder
Than it ever has to be
Yesterday I screamed out
Tomorrow you’ll hear me shout
But today
Here’s the best way to express what I have to say

(CHORUS)
Think I’m gonna play my music
(That’s what I’m gonna do)
Think I wanna sing my song
(And if they listen, they’ll understand)
Maybe then, their hearts will listen
Maybe join in loud and strong
Then more and more will hear and sing along

Think I’m gonna play my music
(Sing, and make them listen)
Join in and sing

Another teenage boy is dying
‘Cause another teenage boy put a bullet in his head
Left for school in his favorite shirt this morning
But his favorite shirt just happened to be red
One more young life wasted, sadly
One more young life gone astray
Over a twisted sense of values
Or the claim of a disrespectful display

We make life so much harder
Than it was ever meant to be
Yesterday, made my plea
Tomorrow you’ll hear me scream
But today
Think I need to sing what I have to say

CHORUS (Twice)

Sing along
Drown those voices out that steer them wrong
Today, they just might disagree
But I believe, tomorrow they will see
So sing loud and clear
‘Cause music seems to touch on every ear
Let them hear your voices, near and far
And be their guiding star

(Guitar solo)

CHORUS

(Choir Chorus)
Find the words, Open up and sing
From the heart, Let your voices ring
(Repeat, w/Ad libs)

Pawn Shop Blues

Pawn Shop Blues

My boss called last week
He said business is slow
The workload is so small
Afraid I’m gonna have to let you go
Well I never saw this comin’
Did not have one clue
And, from the looks of all of these bills
I bit off more than I could chew
And my remedy makes me sad
But it’s the only one I had
So I gotta deal with it
I gotta deal with it

‘Cause I gotta feed this family
Sold almost everything I owned
But the bills kept comin’ in
So I got me one of them pawn shop loans
I hocked my guitar, my stereo
And my car, as collateral
The only thing that I’ve got left
To sell is my soul
And my remedy makes me sad
But it’s the only one I had
So I gotta deal with it
I gotta deal with it
‘Cause I got them

(CHORUS)
Pawn shop blues, pawn shop blues
Hockin’ off everything
Givin’ up what I can’t afford to lose
Well I throw up my hands
And ask them how on earth
Can they look me in the eye
And offer me half of what it’s worth
But I take it anyway
‘Cause there’s bills I’ve got to pay
I’ve got them pawn shop blues

(Guitar Solo)

Now hopefully soon
I’ll be back on that job again
Can’t let this get me down
I won’t let bad luck get a win
When you lose all you’ve got
Sometimes, your pride goes on a skid
‘Cause you got nothing to show
For all of this work that you did
And that’s why my remedy makes me sad
But it’s the only one I had
So I gotta deal with it
I gotta deal with it
Well I got them….

CHORUS
