Silver Lining

Silver Lining-James Dewtie 2006

You push and shove
It’s much more than physical
Inosence is gone
And turned undesireable
Although the tear fall’s down her face
Her faith in love remains
Another prisoner of a love gone broken
As the sun turns into rain

She looks back to the day
When she was just a little girl
Carefree and a soul so strong
She was daddies girl
Never in her dreams did she imagine
That love could hurt so much
The little girl that was once inside
Is now forever lost

The silver lining that she once knew
Has disappeared into darkness
The pot of gold has been stolen
And the sun cant seem to break through all of this
She tries to run but the scene wont change
Time moves, but she stand’s motionless
Another chapter of a book unread
Locked in a safe of regret

She sits there undecided
And she notices a hand
She would pull through alright
If she takes the love of a friend
The tears have filled her eyes
But a light seems to shine
The light of a prisoner
Freed from darkness and returned to life

The silver lining that she once knew
Has disappeared into darkness
The pot of gold has been stolen
And the sun cant seem to break through all of this
She tries to run but the scene wont change
Time moves, but she stand’s motionless
Another chapter of a book unread
Locked in a safe of regret

Innocence

Written By: James Dewtie

Innocence

In the beginning it seemed to start out right
It was going just as I planned
Just driving down this road that we call life
Not knowing what lies ahead

You never know what bumps you might hit
Until you plow right over them
Just trying to keep on the straight and narrow
When everything inside of me

Wants to drive the road
I’ve never been before, never seen before
Blindfolded, Carefree, my past behind me

Nothing but clear road

You can try to run, you can try to hide
But innocence will always fine, will always try
And I’m just standing here, with my head poured in my hands
Just trying to find the cure, for innocence

You look at me like I’ve lost everything
Everything inside of me
I look at you like you are not the girl
Not the girl you used to be
Everything seems to be two-sided
Unless its on your end
And I think that I’ve decided
When everything inside of me

Wants to drive the road
I’ve never been before, never seen before
Blindfolded, Carefree, my past behind me

Nothing but clear road

You can try to run, you can try to hide
But innocence will always fine, will always try
And I’m just standing here, with my head poured in my hands
Just trying to find the cure, for innocence
