"Hurt n’ Wrong – James Gilmore"

Among the wave of electro that is sweeping the charts and popular music, it is easy to forget where music has evolved from, or how mollifying a simple voice and acoustic guitar can be. James Gilmore playfully reminds us of music’s humble roots, without any need for extravagance or intricate drum filters.

Hurt n’ Wrong is a testament to folk music, the way that Bob Dylan or Woody Guthrie would have intended it to be. Meshing sounds similar to Mumford & Sons and the most recent endeavors of The Decemberists, Gilmore romantically exclaims that the banjo and vocal harmonies are not something saved simply for the old country. The title track, “Hurt n’ Wrong” brings folk into the twentieth century, a great feat for such a young talent. We should expect more from Gilmore, and there is a bright future ahead of this old soul trapped in a modern world. - Mount Messenger

"James Gilmore to Perform 2019 Bunbury Music Festival"

It's a return to the rock. And a return of a familiar face.

Fall Out Boy – the pop-rock band that headlined in 2014 – will be joined by Greta Van Fleet and The 1975 on the banks of the Ohio River this summer.

Bunbury Music Festival, now in its eighth year, will also return with its known mix of new top-charting alternative rock acts and '90s rock radio throwbacks, like Stone Temple Pilots and Sublime with Rome, as well as hip-hop and electronica festival favorites, like Run the Jewels and Girl Talk. - The Enquirer

Still working on that hot first release.

James Gilmore is an alt-folk singer-songwriter from Portsmouth, New Hampshire. His music has been described as old soul sounds mixed with new folk, with intricate lyrics and soulful vocals. His latest singles "Plastic Armor Hide" and “Decorations” were featured on radio stations across the country, leading to an international tour as he joined festival lineups with such icons as Fall Out Boy, Flaming Lips, Paramore, and Machine Gun Kelly.

Gilmore has been recognized in Songwriter Universe as one of the best songwriters of 2020, drawing comparisons to the Lumineers, Damien Rice, and Conor Oberst. In 2022, Gilmore returns to the road with a US tour while recording a highly anticipated second album.
