James Hollands appears on over fifty (50) different projects from 1992- current. His work appears on the Iron & Clay Albums-1992-2008. His own Single Red & Yellow, Black & White, released through Kingdom Wise Promotions in 2002 and Hardrush Music, Down Under Christian Music Compilation. One Love, and Red & Yellow Black & White appears of the AGMA- Compilations- 2003-2004. The list is far too long... Introducing: James Hollands-Singer/Songwriter/Producer/Performer Extraordinaire.
James Hollands is a thirty (34) year old New Zealand born, prolific singer/songwriter/producer and performer. James has been writing and performing live since the age of twelve, with his first television appearance at the age of fourteen (14) years young.
In 1992 James auditioned for Gospel Vocal Group (Iron & Clay) (www.ironandclay.com.au) and soon became one of the founding members of One of Australia’s longest and most hardworking Youth band in the nation- and has toured Australia and New Zealand (1992-2000). The group has performed to more than 2 (two) million students in the past sixteen years. James’s relationship continues to this day as a mentor to the current artists in the group and also writes and produces Iron & Clay music still to this day.
As a leader of his own vocal group James Hollands and The NMG Crew (2000-03) he first toured Australia and went on to tour Europe taking in the Ukraine, Romania and New Zealand performing to packed stadiums and churches alike and performing to the under-privileged and those affected by the Chernobyl Disaster- ( Aug-Sep 2003).
On the 1st of December 2005, James signed a publishing contract with Baby Bear Music Publishing. Marcus Knight says “I’m over the moon to have James on our roster and I’m ready to promote James’s song writing and music both here and abroad”. James has been developing his song writing gift for the past twenty years.
He has worked with the likes of David Caplice who manages: (Human Nature, Paulini, and the Young Divas and has also represented the likes of Australian Idols Shannon Noll, Guy Sebastian, and Kate De-Rauge, in Australia).
In (2005) James co-wrote and produced a number of songs for Ex-Australian Idol Cosima DeVito and over the past ten years he has written and produced for Boy Band “Boys In Black (Festival Mushroom), Charmaine (Backing Vocalist) for Grammy Award Winner Rebecca St James, Shadhe (Iron & Clay) Skylla (Solo artist and member of seven piece Family Group BASIC) and the list goes on.
James has appeared on National Television (both in new Zealand and Australia) several times (GMA/The Midday Show/Ernie and Denise- and Australia pop Princess Aria winner Delta Goodrem for the Royal Children Hospital Good Friday Appeal and at the Crown Casino for The David Jaanz School of Singing Concerts and Song writing Camps and for MMAD- “Musicians Making A Difference” in Sydney/ Melbourne and in the Outback Western Australia amongst the Indigeneous Aboriginal Australians- an organisation which provides services to and for Children who have been placed as “Ward of the States” and those in police custody. www.mmad.org.au and www.dropshots.com/351.
James has supported other Aria winners Joanne B, Sister2sister, and International R&B Superstar Montell Jordan, World renowned Gospel Singer Dr. Ron Kenoly, Minister RMB (LA MC and Rapper) and the Katinas (USA) shared the stage with Australian music legends such as: Jimmy Barnes, Mike Brady, and John Paul Young Aneiki, The Wiggles, John Wood Johanna Grigg to name a few.
His song writing and production work also appears on various singles, albums, and compilations both here and on other artists’ albums overseas, radio, jingles and Television. One of James Hollands career Highlights, is his anthemic song entitled “Red and Yellow Black and White” penned in 2002 which recently took out The Best R&B Gospel Song Category at the 2005 Australian Gospel Music Awards (AGMA) in November Canberra).
Red and Yellow Black and White is currently featured on the Urban Gospel Compilation released in New Zealand in December 2005 through Urban Pacifica Records.
James as a solo artist was invited to be part of the Commonwealth Games Queen’s Baton Relay Celebrations in Wangaratta in February 2006. James performed at several other “Commonwealth Games” events around the City of Melbourne.
The word got out and James got to be part of a State Government and Local Government funded initiatives to host Regional Open Air Festivals including the Official Opening of the Commonwealth Games in Wonthaggi. James and several Melbourne artists provided “Live Entertainment” to the gathering crowds to watch the Opening Ceremony on Two Large Video Screens.
James keeps himself busy Writing Producing and performing at numerous events around Australia and New Zealand and the list is far too long to mention here.
James is above all, one of the most respected and talented musicians here in Australia… and New Zealand...however, it has been his unwavering faith and belief in the youth of Australia and his strong character, that has endeared him to many around the country…and James loves Gospel Music and he loves to perform to anyone who is willing to give him the time.
