JAMES PARKS - PERFORMER & SONGWRITER
A fifth generation Arizona native, James was born in Scottsdale, and still spends time on his family-owned ranch just outside of Tombstone, which has been in the family for over 100 years.
James picked up his first guitar at the age of twelve, and was hooked. The songs he writes reflect his love of home, family, the simple pleasures in life, relationships, humor, along with their hardships and loss. The writing process comes in waves...it can be a fifteen minute got-to-get-this down, or sometimes years in the making - definitely a creative roller-coaster ride.
Growing up, listening to all kinds of music, James is inspired to this day by a variety of artists and everyday events...from Skynyrd to Jennings; Allman Brothers to Zeppelin; Haggard to Tritt; Bonanza episodes, John Wayne films, a favorite movie, "Trip to Bountiful," or a chat with a neighbor - all taught him that it's about one's commitment of expression - be true to the music.
His songs, such as "All American Cowgirl" and "Girl in a 4-Wheel Drive" make you want to dance, along with "Love Thing" - a definite sing-along. "Sedona," a personal song of love and loss, might bring a tear, but "First Class White Trash" will make you smile. James loves performing, singing acoustic solo, or with the band. Singing from the heart, whether it's with an electric or acoustic guitar, he considers it an honor and a privilege to bring enjoyment to the audience.
Having lived both in Nashville, and currently in Phoenix, James takes every opportunity to be outdoors - hiking, fishing, etc. His greatest joy comes from spending time with his daughter, Faith. She is his true inspiration.
