James R.

Brooklyn born James Rosario conquered all the obstacles that were placed before him and kept his eye on the prize. Coming from humble beginnings James was one of six children, always hard working, he landed his first job in asupermarket at the age of seven. Through all the uncertainty that he faced throughout his adolescence two factors were always a common denominator, music and basketball.
It wasn’t until James was 12 years old that he would come to discover his third and most profitable passion. While attending middle school in MS88 a production company was holding auditions at the school for parts in a new movie, “Thicker Then Blood”. After auditioning and not getting a call back, James’ determination began to flare and he would soon realize how far his determination would take him. He researched the production company’s contactinformation and persistently called the office every single day until he received that call back. From then on he knew he had talent, but most importantly he discovered he had passion.

James carried that undeniable passion with him to high school where he set his sights on becoming a model. His youth and inexperience proved to be a disadvantage after he pursued multiple dead ends. It wasn’t until Chris Collie asked James a question he had been asked a million times over, but the response had never taken him too far, “Do You want to be a model?” Although he was skeptical he took a chance, and as a result ended up on an editorial spread for “Urban Latino Magazine”.

After that faithful meeting the Brooklyn boy’s dreams all started to come true. He began to see his face on all the large publications such as, The Source, Vibe, Prestige, XXL, and Krave Magazine. His reach went a lot furtherthen just printed ads and billboards he participated in Bets Rip The Runway as well, and in 2010 became one of Sean Johns campaign faces.

Through his career James R has broken the mold and has earned the respect of the same people within the industry that said he couldn’t make it because of his urban look, tattoos, and scars. Despite all the odds stacked against he has been able to accomplish everything he’s set his mind to.

Currently James is pursing a passion that takes him back to his very beginnings. He has put together his debut album “The Revelation” that is due to drop on June 21st 2011. “The Revelation” serves as a mirror that reveals the truth of his personal and professional growth. As an individual he seeks to inspire and show the world that dreams really do come true. The world was definitely not ready for James R. but is a more inspirational place because of his presence
