Lyrics

Paris

Written By: Jamie Carrick

Only one thing remains
and that's the follow-through
time to take off for Paris
and denial

I know you've heard this before
maybe more than a few times
but you haven't been listening
for a while

Why can you see me leaving
I'm on a plane tonight
what would it take to understand

To believe this
is something
that you will never know
sometimes I wish I knew it too

Well I once met a man with
more credentials
to justify leaving town to
start again

Said he's always felt anxious to
change surroundings
but to me that means nothing, well
then again...

Now this is where it stumps me
it's been this way for years
but now I want to stay 'cause
I think I'm happy here

Before the first has ended
and all is as it was
maybe this all will stay
above and beyond
my luck

I know you've heard this before
maybe more than a few times
but this time I think I mean it...
at least today

Fine By Me

Written By: Jamie Carrick

You could have left me
with a number
or at least a name
but to not would just be better
for your sake, well
that's just fine by me

Your superficial air, it came to light
a little late
and then you left and left me hanging in that bitter state, well
that's just fine by me

Ya, that's alright with me

If you just leave that alone then,
we could talk
and maybe one day you'll learn that
I was right for you
but you don't have time for me
'cause I'm not like you, and that's
fine by me

One day we might try
to write this out another way
shame that I have plans
to play your part and walk away
well, that's just fine by me

Ya, that's alright with me

Live and learn
I've prayed to understand how
I can live through this gauntlet
time will turn
and soon we'll all be sure that
there's a means
but for now...

If you just leave that alone then,
we could talk
and maybe one day you'll learn that
this song
is about you
