Songwriter Jamie David has certainly been on an eclectic and varied life and musical journey during his time on this planet. So perhaps we shouldn't be surprised if his music is fairly hard to pin down into a category. Circuses, street performance, community arts projects, an extremely diverse range of bands, musical studies in Africa and India, living in the bush without electricity for a couple of years, inner city life for a couple of years, meditation, maditation, living on tropical islands diving the reefs; plus a multitude of musical influences ranging from Brecht, Brelle, the whole popular culture canon, contempory classic composers such as Gregory Ligetti, Steve Riech, Balkan and other world music, Coltrane, Mingus, Monk; if you listen closely you will find it all there.
