Bio
Jamie Stellini has been writing and playing songs since she was 15 yrs old. She dropped out of NYU in her senior year when she realized she was getting pretty good at it and started playing east village clubs like the infamous Sidewalk Cafe, epicenter for New York's anti-folk scene.
In the summer of 2002, she teamed up with ex-boyfriend and former bandmate David Silva (of the Amber Smith) and recorded 5 tracks in his basement for her debut EP. In the summer of 2003, she threw her guitar and her brand new tracks into her 1991 Volkswagen Jetta and journeyed all the way to New Orleans. Within a few weeks, she had ingratiated herself on the 'street scene' playing for tourists and selling CD's out of a guitar case. Within a month, she was playing in a band with bass player Peter Vee of Papa Grows Funk and opening for such artists as Teresa Anderson and Papa Grows. She's back in New York now, playing shows in all the old familiar east village clubs and getting ready for the independent release of her debut EP, scheduled for August 2004.
Likened to artists like Ani DiFranco and Aimee Mann, her stunning, honest songwriting and charismatic stage performances have left unsuspecting audiences all over the country smitten.
