Debut release & UK Tour Supporting Rubylux 12th April 2011
The Kent countryside can be a frustrating place to be for a scrawny bunch of misfit musicians such as Jamie and the Portraits. Striking out from their desolate surroundings in a blaze of youthful enthusiasm and with a sound built upon strong founding influences such as Dylan, The View and Babyshambles.
The WYE E.P. is a bundle of bouncing hope and joy from a noisy young band hell bent on fun and exploration. While they may dwell upon character flaws and insecurities for a second the band insist on a good time in and out of the studio which has been proven at their hometown shows described as ‘pure mayhem’ by one local hack.
"Jamie & The Portraits' songs are gorgeously light of touch - perfect music for the approach towards summertime” - BBC introducing - MusicVita
