Bio
Jamika Ajalon, the charismatic American poetess and director installed in London, already seen by Zenziles sides, publishes her first album in February 2007: «Helium Balloon Illusions» this is, influences, mixing hip hop and electro, dub and spoken words, where prevail groove. Above all where exceptionally performed words call us up.
Those who discovered her with Zenzile she joined in the end nineties, wont have no doubt. Jamika; sometimes qualified in the newspapers of being a feminine Tricky, the underground Grace Jones; gives a phenomenal energy into her subtle texts. They fell in love with this exiled American when she joined the live show at the Brixton Fridge. She wasnt suppose to be part of the show, but the human being and the artist where there at the right moment, and then she is been the first guest on various «5+1» (next were sir Jean from Meï Teï Shô and Vincent Segal from Bum Cello); a so successful try that now on Jamika is considered as the sixth member of Zenzile a bit like Yan Stewart the sixth Stones Participating in almost all the fallowing records, and regularly on tour with them, Jamika explored femininity and her feline style into Zenziles new dub in Austin USA (South by South West festival), in Montreal festival, at Sakifo in Réunion island, at Vieilles Charrues and many others all around Europe.
Others like Tony Allen, The Srine sound system, Urban Poets and numerous djs asked her for her voice and writings. She was part of Shrinemania Tour in Ouganda And the frenchs from El Baron Brissetti invited her in 2004 on the EP called «ZZT Girl».
