"Nicole Jamrose"

“ Nicole Jamrose has more than come into her own since her stint on Nashville Star and is worth checking out live if you get the chance.”
- Gone Country Magazine 2007

"How Nicole Got Her Groove Back"

Nicole Jamrose has a new album, new outlook and her old life back. It's a winning combo for the region rocker, the last woman standing on "Nashville Star" in 2006. The Dyer singer finished third in the Country Music Television talent search, bagging a tour with Lonestar.

"I was lucky," said Jamrose, 37, smiling. "It was a crash course on Rock Stardom 101."

The perks? Hair stylists and makeup artists on call. Dinner with Wynonna. Willie Nelson on her cell phone. Heady stuff for a married mom of two.

"Nicole Jamrose Celebrates CD Release Tonight"

Regionites recall Nicole Jamrose of St. John as the last woman standing in the 2006 fourth season of the USA Network series, "Nashville Star," and the media hoopla surrounding her televised and triumphant homecoming concert at Lake Central High School.

While the memories were wonderful, Jamrose soon was boxed into a niche. While country music had clearly played and continues to play a part in the Jamrose sound, the singer had always been equally influenced by rock, blues and soul music.

"Nashville Star Tour"

“She was the surprise of the night’…”.from the opening note of Bonnie Raitt’s “Thing Called Love,” Ms. Jamrose was fun, energetic and full of fire. Her original, “Dead Man Walking,” was rollicking good, and she did a convincing cover of “Jackson,” the Johnny and June Carter Cash 1967 staple. - Dallas Morning News 2006

Bio

Nicole Jamrose has that voice that draws everyone in, she has that elusive quality that cannot be taught but is something you are born with. Her voice has been called a perfect mix of whiskey and honey. She can sing a sweet love song, growl her way through the blues and do it all like it was meant to be done. Nicole’s musical style evolved from her diverse musical background, which blends rock, pop, blues, and soul. Her influences range from Aretha Franklin and Bonnie Raitt to Pink and Sheryl Crow. She has shared the stage with such international acts as Victor Wooten, bass virtuoso of Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, Nil Lara, Live, Phil Vassar, Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, Randy Travis, and Randy Owen. Nicole is what they call "the real deal".
In 2006, Jamrose achieved her most notable accomplishment to date when she beat out more than 20,000 contestants to earn one of 10 coveted spots on the popular USA Network television show Nashville Star. Nicole won the leading spot as the last-standing female contestant. A viewer base of more than 2 million voted her third in the competition, which earned her a spot on the 2006 Nashville Star Tour.
As much as Jamrose loved country music, she knew her true passion had been formed in her roots of Rock, Pop, and Soul. She headed back to her hometown of Indiana, put a new band together, and began to write the songs that reflected all of her musical influences.

Nicole brought together 4 of the most sought after musicians in the Chicago / Northwest Indiana area to form the band Jamrose. She found 4 very accomplished musicians and put an emphasis on vocal harmonies. The result was a band with a very vibey sound with great vocals.

The Independent release of Jamrose’s first CD U-Turn is a reflection of Nicole's musical passions and a great group of musicians, Nicole now resides in Northwest Indiana and can be found at local music venues around Northwest Indiana and the Chicagoland area.
