"De slåss om karusellsegern"

Linköping band Jamsällskapet, with its frontman in the singer Emma Järnvall, plays progrock mixed with experimental jazz. On Monday it became clear that the band got this year's wild card.

- It's fun, and we're probably a bit more of a wild card band. We haven't had time to think or feel so much yet, but of course we are happy, ”says Emil Björck, multi-instrumentalist who plays rock organ, synthesizer and more. - Sara Segraeus - Corren Norrköping

Discography

Jamsällskapet announced their highly anticipated first studio album EP1 on the 6th of July. Before going on their summer tour in Sweden. The 5 track EP is available on Spotify, Youtube and Soundcloud.

EP1 was a collaboration of the whole band, produced by Niklas Mattson and Emil Björck and mixing and mastering done by Emil Björck. Lyrically the songs are mostly influenced by transitions in life, perspectives and mindsets.

Musically sounds like something done in early 70´s, inspired by Frank Zappa, Monica Zetterlund and also early Tame impala albums.

Bio

Our lead singer Emma Järnvall who writes most of the lyrics and is influenced by the legendary Monica Zetterlunds way of fascinating the crowd. We deliver our own Swedish lyrics in a psychedelic pop/rock kind of vibe that´s mostly inspired by bands such as Tame impala, Dungen and Amason.

First formed in late 2017 when our lead guitarist Niklas Mattson hooked the newly formed band with a couple of gigs. Niklas then showed the group the hit "Svagheten" that was first played in English, but Emma and Niklas rewrote it in Swedish. The currently playing keyboardist Emil Björck whom at the time played guitar had a really badass baseline that the bass player Mehrdad really liked, he used it an turned it into the gold that the song "Glasbarn" became. And late in arrival but appreciated to the skies came the drummer Fredric Ericson in the summer 2018 who has really made the new tracks soon to be released (hopefully in summer 2019) dynamically amazing.

First the group toured with the drummer Ludvig Erikson but he left in summer 2018 when he moved to Malmö. The all-around musically talented Arvid Lundberg has also played a few gigs with the group, and both of them are welcome back in some way if they´d like to.
